he'd have been a great president. i really think both parties nominated the best candidates available.
i feel bad he has to go through the kabuki of the next 3 weeks. he deserves better.

see, i don't and there are others who feel the same. now, between clinton and obama, they were pretty much the same philosophically. but i hear many who now have 'buyers remorse' regarding mccain, and i think if there was a second chance, many would ignore romneys religion and put him on the ballot. but i could be wrong.
i think too many are worried about mccains age, and his choice of vp has put off the very moderates he needed.
there was a very brief discussion about appealing to the base, and getting the far righters to vote for JM. but, i remember back when JM was attempting to get the nomination, and rush limbaugh and others were howling in protest, i think rush at one point even said he wanted folks to vote for hillary, as he didn't want mccain. but now, they want him bad--as they would rather him than a dem, just like i said. mccain should have chosen someone more in line with his moderate views. the righters would vote for him anyway, but he'd have gotten the indys he needed. too late now tho.
