Which in straight talk translates into...

"I'm a hot headed a--hole."

Whips

Am I dreaming or did I see nails on some whips. It looked like barbed wire is this allowed? I will try and find the pictures of these but I can't remember where I saw them...

I honestly don't think this particular incident is going to be a huge deal in the non-racing community because A., it appears the horse in question will recover and B., it was a cheap claimer at Delaware Park, not the Derby or a Breeders Cup race.

I hope it does'nt matter that it was a "cheap claimer".. Abuse is abuse.

It will matter. Even Big Brown's loose shoe was noted on Inside Edition. This will be another bust in the chops for horse racing.

Completely STUPID thing for Rose to do. I would sue him if I were that owner for what I had into the horse, not just the bills, as they will never get it back out of this horse now. I've heard she lost the eye.

there are big races this weekend, cant we talk about those.

As soon as the entries are drawn and pp's are out. Any talk now is wasted breath.

I could care less about "big races this weekend" on Tuesday. There are three days of racing before then.

I guess you don't see this incident as big news, a lot of others do.

Oh, and feel free to not post in the threads with subjects you don't like. You don't have to post in every thread.

MaTH716 06-24-2008 08:36 PM

If you don't care about the incident that took place, then just don't partake in the conversation. Whether you like it or not, this is going to be news for while.

As I said, I knew I was going to get slammed for it. God forbid someone take an opinion other than the popular one. You could use a little work on tact, however.

I don't think your getting "banned".. perhaps just a "talkin too" and a "time out" in the corner :p

A banning from the smart threads only would suffice. :D

Can I ask a question? In all seriousness, is it not at all even remotely possible that the whip in question was an accident? If Rose comes out and says it was an accident, do we just completely dismiss it? Again, I know I'll get slammed again for even asking the question, but I don't understand why folks won't even consider that there is perhaps another side to the story.

I heard Alan Foreman say on the ATR tonight that Rose will "do whatever is right," or something to that effect. What does that actually mean anyway?

i think it was a accident, i doubt rose did this on purpose... i was going to post that earlier, but to be honest was afraid of the response from everyone else.

I wondered too. Foreman said he will keep us informed and I will have the DRC's Chairman John Wayne tomorrow as well.

slotdirt 06-24-2008 08:53 PM

I'm not sure what it says for my argument when jcs is the only one on my side.

honestly, I have no clue how anyone could watch that and think that it was an accident that the whip hit the horse in the head...then a couple extra taps for good measure as well.
