How many eastern conference championships did they win without James??

How many eastern conference championships have they won with James??

Mortimer 03-17-2008 01:56 PM

I wll now let history tell my story....I do not mix and match time segments like the Captain of the Oblivious does.

If THE CLANGER continues his current antics......no title.

He plays like a true great player who wants to win a title does....which calls for TEAM play...then he will win them.

There is NO FROZEN ONE in TEAM.

Until then The Worshipper can keep mixing and matching to fit the "greatness" of James. Too bad he can't manufacture a phony title that way, too.

Same as Z....one.

horseofcourse 03-17-2008 02:02 PM

The fact that you refuse to answer any of my questions is pretty much all I need to know about this thread. When one is obviously right and asks easy questions with easy answers that refuse to be answered the story is told.

You obviously think James is the greatest player to ever play the game as you stated he could average more than an assist more per game than Magic Johnson ever did in his entire career while playing with the top scorer in NBA history, James Worthy, Byron Scott and Michael Cooper. That is in essence where you and I differ. I do not quite put Z up to Jabbar's level, nor Sasha up to Worthy's level, nor Delonte up to Scott's level, nor Varejao up to McAdoo's level. I guess you could put Wallace up to Rambis' level!!

Oh yes, along with the fact they are 1-0 in their last one game with both Z and LeBron on the floor. Don't forget Scott Pollard as well. They won an eastern conference championship with him as well!!

Mortimer 03-17-2008 02:18 PM

Your statements merely support team effort...nothing more.

horseofcourse 03-17-2008 02:38 PM

Listen, I didn't start this thread ripping him to shreds. That was not me. I was only responding. I do not think the team under-achieved last year even with him being a ball hog so to speak if that's really what you think. You act like the guy never passes the ball. Simply not true. Again the main difference to me is you equate the rest of this Cavs team to the 80s Laker teams. I don't. I think LeBron has to score a bit more than Magic to make this team most effective. Sort of like Jordan wasn't dealing out 15 assists per game for the 90s Bulls. I don't think that team would have been as good with him doing that. He was an over 30 a game scorer for those teams. I'm not comparing LeBron to either Magic or Jordan, but really, you can't think the supporting group of players for Cleveland is that good that he can average 14 assists per game? I mean Jabbar and Worthy were hall of famers. This Cleveland team ain't got that...sorry. I know you love those other guys to death, but they ain't Jabbar or big game James.

You need a whole student body to think for you.

What are James greatest assets?

Huge threat to take it to the hole....vision...great passing ability.

Does this sound like maybe he might make a good point guard?

He would be better than Johnson.

There's an old bromide saying ....you can win it all if you don't care who gets the credit.

If you do not understand that James does not undertsand ---then you are lost. That's always been my issue with him..that lone issue. You can run for evidence and other WITNESSES...but the story plays out nearly every game.

Unless some more key components get back and get in shape and there are no more major injuries the Cavs may not get by the first round.

If the above does come to pass.......the very best they will do is lose to the West in the finals. They will never win it all with this team as it is unless James changes his game.

He can average 14 assists simply by dropping off 7-10 shots a game...and passing. He doesn't have to have two hall of famers with him. He would be that good if he only would gave up THE CHOSEN ONE idiocy.

So until James wins a title playing the way he does now----you can spew until Whothefucl<areThey gets something right.......you will still be dead wrong.

horseofcourse 03-17-2008 03:10 PM

Then the problem isn't him it's the coaches. They need to get West the heck off the floor and play him at point guard non-stop. But you see they traded to get this faux point guard...Delonte West. He's an ok player, but they wanted him to play point guard. That's why they got him. I think for myself. I know what I've seen. I'm not sure of the wisdom of the highest field goal percentage shooter on the team to drop 10 shots a game. I know what I see. I think you're dreaming in thinking increasing the shot load on the rest of the team is going to make him better. LeBron has the highest percentage on the team...he is not the one dropping the percentage to 43 or 44 percent or whatever it is. I saw a guy who played in 20 postseason games last year and led the team in assists in 20 post season games. HE is passing the ball to somebody. His assist total in post season last year was way up from regular season. His scoring was down...that may have been worse shooting that caused that...but his assists were up 2 per game in the post season last year. Your ball hog comments simply don't wash. IT doesn't add up at all. POssessions are generally less in post season and he was averaging 8 per game as opposed to 6 in the regular season. His assists are up 1.5 per game this year. I repeat...he simply has to be passing to somebody isn't he??

You make your arguments all you want. Nothing you say adds up too much. Other than the fact that he does need to improve his free throw shooting. That is about the only thing I agree with.

Mortimer 03-17-2008 03:12 PM

O nba titles so far....and zero with no change in his game for the future.

ZEE-RO.

Take it to the bank....have it witnessed.

Mortimer 03-17-2008 03:21 PM

He'll actually have to practice free throw shooting, too.

horseofcourse 03-17-2008 03:22 PM

Well, then he'll have as many titles as the great ego-less Austin Carr, Brad Daugherty, Mark Price, Jim Chones, Larry Nance, World B Free etc. Those late 80s-early 90s Wilkens teams played great team ball all the time. They were all very good shooters...good free throw shooters (other than Ehlo!) and they never sniffed a title...ever. How could that be?? Explain that one to me ace?? Another pretty easy answer.

Can't justify why the Cavs can't win an nba title with the SHOOTING STAR.

We'll have to be bombarded with yet more time segments.

Mortimer 03-17-2008 03:28 PM

Here's a time segment he will run from....how many nba titles did the SHOOTING STAR..Wilt Chamberlian ..win until he changed his game?

Why would I have to justify it?? I've never seen any Cleveland team win a title. Why would I have to justify the Cavs not winning one with LeBron?? The closest they ever came was last year and he was on the team. I know it had more to do with ERic Snow, Ilgauskas, Marshall, Hughes and Pollard...yes we all know that it was more to do with the other 11 guys than James...but they got pretty close last year with LeBron James as their leading scorer and passer. Saying a Cleveland team can't win becuase of LeBron?? You'll have to do way better than that!!! That's pretty comical. I haven't seen any Cleveland team win with ANYONE!! Man you're good.

Perhaps his game changed becuase of Hal Greer, Chet Walker, Billy Cunningham, Luke Jackson. AGain...you're really gonna compare here?? classic.

Mortimer 03-17-2008 03:32 PM

Can't justify his sainting of James....has backed himself into corner.

Looking mighty goofy if ya ask me.

You put some hall of famers with James he'll have a better team. What are you trying to say here?? I dont' think the 08 Cavs have nearly as good a team as the 67 Sixers whatever that means.

Mortimer 03-17-2008 03:39 PM

COO-COO....COO-COO

He still cain't justify his fouled claim.

horseofcourse 03-17-2008 03:39 PM

IF you really want to compare Delonte West to a hall of famer and Sasha to a hall of famer be my guest. The 67 Sixers had 3 hall of famers and the 80sLakers had 3 hall of famers. Chamberlain shot well under 50 percent from the free throw line as well. I understood you couldn't win with anyone shooting under 72 percent?? I guess your point is if James were any good he's make Pavlovic a hall of famer?

Outrageous.

Jordan made Pippen a hall of famer.

And James still has no titles.

Put him on the Charlotte....then you'll see some titles!!

Wake me when the SHOOTING STAR wins an nba title.

horseofcourse 03-17-2008 03:46 PM

My guess is it will have something to do with a loss in Orlando and 2 for 9 from 3 point range or something like that!!:D

So you have to win an NBA title. I guess Barkley, Iverson, Malone, Stockton and many others were no good---what a joke.

Uh....back up dumbazz....you have to account for the 'everybody knows you always go for the win on the road..it was the right call.'

You would be the only joke if it wasn't for horseoffcourse. You two are the ones holding him up for sainthod----all I'm saying if he's so great why hasn't he "made everyone around him better" to the extent the 'best player " can win a title.

But you still have to addrress your prior dumbazz statement before moving to this one.

Or are you going to cut and run again?

Mortimer 03-17-2008 04:52 PM
