What thought has been given to this, or is it entirely up to the trainer?

Suzanne..

Good question.. I'd be more inclined to let Chuck answer that. As I explain in the prospectus, there will be a reserve of about 15% for emergency purposes, so I suppose we would do what we could in the short term to get our runner a post-career home and deal with it from there.. We do have a few show/hunter/jumper riders around DT.. Could be an option..

Bottom line is that we'd 'make it work'...

AE,

I absolutely KNOW you were mailed one out... Checked off the list... I'll send another!

Sorry...

Another 8 have gone out to new arrivals the last 10 days or so as well...

Anyone who was expecting a Prospectus but hasn't rec'd, please send me an Email to my other box: tpkasept@ yahoo.com (I'm getting mail into my nycap box but can't send out for some reason...)

AeWingnut 02-01-2007 07:00 PM

I know that I never received it. I have been looking for the longest time. I am very sincere about wanting to do this.

I wouldn't be surprised to fnd my mailman tossing my mail. I've gone round with him in the past

found my mail laying in the yard. Could've been kids

We will do our best to take care of our horse in the event that he/she is longer able to race.

Come on Derby Trailers ask for your prospectus and send in your money.
Just imagine this when the horse wins a race

- Your pic with quite a cast of characters in the winners circle
- The memories
- The laughs
- The money you will win betting on our horse

This alone is worth the cost of a share

jman5581 02-02-2007 12:01 PM

It's the "cast of characters" part that's worrisome .... being a novice on this board, after reading some of you guys .... will I have to worry about having enough cash left after a winning effort for bail money later in the evening? <vbg>

scrimshaw 02-02-2007 12:47 PM

Check sent today. Everybody get your money so Chuck can claim a runner.

All I got to say is that horse better not show up running around my neck of the woods (Fairmount Park)!!! If so, we didn't do so good :p

scrimshaw 02-02-2007 12:50 PM

Well, maybe the St. Louis Derby...I'd take that!

is Dave Gall still training horses? Still alive?

scrimshaw 02-02-2007 04:56 PM

I assume you're talking about Gall the Great, thousands of mounts at FP... he hung it up in the late 90's..maybe 1999? I don't think he trains any.

I think he's still kicking. I saw him posting to threads on Bernie Miklasz' Pressbox page on stltoday.com (website of the St. Louis Post Dispatch)running up to the triple crown last year.

UPDATE: Dee Tee Ready to Go!

Having gotten home to (frigid) New York, I've been able to catch up on the Partnership commitments and it looks like we're about ready to go shopping for a runner!

Interestingly, we have exactly what our initial estimate was in terms of partners and investment dollars... 40 partners... $25,000... (once last few committments are received). Though we had revised our estimate upwards in terms of the money target based on early verbal and posted responses, we can cap this first share offering as it is now and get started. That will essentially double everyone's ownership percentage from 1% to 2%, if you put in $500. ($1,000 = 4%, etc..).

Chuck has been looking for horses in this price range ($20,000), so the budget works fine... If anyone has interest that hasn't yet done so, please get your Agreement letter back to me in the next two weeks (Let's set February 19 as a cutoff)... In the meantime, 'Cannon Shell' is on the lookout for Dee Tee Stables' first horse!

Thanks to everyone for the great response... I can't really believe we're pulling this off!!!

Cool, I'm psyched. Is Chuck looking for an older reliable claimer or a younger horse he sees some potential in?

Open to anything that looks solid and with some upside..

There's a racing age/mixed sale coming that might have something.. claimers to peruse at GP, FG, AQU or TP.. private purchase options.. even a filly or mare that could be turned around at the end of the year or in early '08 and sold as a broodmare prospect..

Look forward to hearing from Chuck here later today..

Please keep us "outsiders" informed. I will be your biggest fan. If the partnership expands to Tx LAD or rem count me in. Im still considering any future offerings even if it would make this old man get of his dead arse and go somewhere. GOOD LUCK

Jpop,

Appreciate the support... I know there's a DT-Fair Grounds Trip being planned.. You should make arrangements to be there! Check out the "Get Togethers" Room "downstairs". I think it's a thread..

estreetposse 02-05-2007 10:34 AM
