133 minutes in penalties handed down in the game today. 62 just for the last bit-guess they wanted to outdo their last regular season match-up. i think they did!

Both games sold out, they know whats going on.Blackbirds have gotten very lucky in the end.Not sure Blackbird fans know how lucky they have been. They could be 0-2 going home. Hope the series is as good in Chicago as it was in Phoenix.

“I know Marc-Andre Fleury will be the guy in the net in our next four games,” Bylsma told reporters after Sunday’s 8-4 loss.

He was soon after strait-jacketed and taken in for drug testing and subsequent observations, correct? :D

:p

i'm figuring he's just looking ahead to next season. fleury is on quite the streak...he's now 0-6 in his last six playoff games.

but maybe insanity is contagious? i was wondering if crosby had suffered permanent brain damage when he decided to grab hartnell late in the third. he's lucky he only bled a little.

Danzig 04-15-2012 09:02 PM

heckuva game tho in fla. i can't stand brodeur and love seeing people score on him. and he's lucky on that one in the third, puck made it by him but just sat in the paint. brodeur just glad one of his guys got to it first.

1 minute left.

I lost all respect for Sid today. My friends used to rib me bc i always told them their hatred for 87 was misplaced and that hockey needs him. No more.

Onward and upwards (for us)!!

Danzig 04-15-2012 09:08 PM

wow. flash! man, i wish he was still with the caps.

i've never cared for him. and he gets so much attention because he's from north america rather than being a russian...

i don't care for the flyers. but man i've enjoyed seeing them pummel pitt. and i know i wouldn't enjoy it if the roles were reversed.

Danzig 04-15-2012 09:13 PM

congrats to fla, who finally gets a playoff win. been a while.

now, vancouver/kings. will taking luongo out of the net be the difference?

apparently, in this series, they're more worried about how quickly you can drop your gloves.

enjoy the game?

Not only the officiating. What the f.uck is Shannahan thinking? 3 games for Haglin, really? Shea Weber slams Zetterberg head in to the glass like he was George the Animal Steel and he only got a 2500 dollar fine. Phillps elbows Callahan, doesn't even get a hearing. Carkner pretty much jumps Boyle and only gets a game. Waiting to see what Shaw gets for running in to Mike Smith. Maybe it will be the death penalty (for the record that was another bulls.hit call).

Sid's an absolute douche.

For Shanahan to be basically saying that Hagelin's accidental elbow was FAR WORSE than Carkner's pre-meditated attack on a defenseless opponent, is DEPLORABLE. Taking into consideration injury is what makes these rulings so patently biased. The actions can be the same or worse, but if they LUCKILY don't cause injury, Shanahan lets it slide?
He says Hagelin's spotless record was taken into consideration? What does he get if he's a repeat offender, 15 games?
So the Rangers dress John Scott tonight, send him after Spezza, and hope one of Ottawas better players jumps in so both can be thrown out, just like what happened Saturday? Carkner, when he dresses, which is infrequently, might play 6 minutes. That one game suspension really hurts the Senators.

once again, lack of consistency. one thing i don't like is they seem to consider whether the victim of the blow(s) suffered serious injury. what does that matter? the intent is to injure. if some are able to escape serious injury, why should the offender get less time? carkners punishment is a laughable joke. webers, as well.
i wonder what asham will get after his bs behavior yesterday?

smith will get games-and i don't think there was intent at all in that case. but they're protecting goalies these days like they do qb's in the nfl. look at how many goalie interference calls there are these days, it's hilarious.

and the refs are inconsistent as well. holtby gets a 2 minute minor for hitting a bruin the other day, thomas gets nothing for hitting backstrom in the face. but the elbow's seem to be flying right now, and that needs to stop. i'm all for big hits, but there's no need for that crap. neal better get something for going after giroux yesterday. he obviously targeted the guys' head, and got it. and i still think his hit on couterier was intentional, that guy has been sid and gino's cross to bear thus far this series.

and yeah, crosby is a douche. what's up with him sticking the guys glove away from him yesterday? he's like a five year old out there. but then, i think the coach is setting a bad example, the C is following right along, and the whole team is imploding.

Seth, I thought the exact same thing. I could understand sitting him for one game. Three games is insane.

Here are the two hits, one guys doesn't even get a hearing.

might want to factor in Hagelin hit daniel alfredsson, arguably the sens best player, and it was a clear head shot

carkner, drops boyle....... a 3rd line guy

i think james neal should be getting a call as well, just my two cents on that though

Listened to Shannahan this morning and the fact that there was an injury was a major factor in his decision. The biggest issues I have is that he says the Phillps hit and the Haglin hit aren't comperable to each other. Obviously I think that is garbage. And Hags only got 3 games because it was his first offense. So if he had a past with the home office, was he looking at like 5 games?

For the record, they are saying thatAlfreddsson did suffer a concusion, but he is a game time decision tonight.

As far as Carkner goes, he's a 6th defenseman that wasn't going to see a lot of time, going after a Rangers player that does log a lot of time. I would think that Carkner also has some sort of past issues with the league office. So I'm not sure how he only gets 1 game for a pre meditated attack.

I think Sergei Bobrovsky might be the only player that is safe not to get a call from the league in that series.
