Wait, Bullwinkle owns Zenyatta? This is breaking news.

Everytime I post some respond with "it's all about you" or "your arrogant, holier than thou" etc. Basically, I remember the old days on the ESPN board, every so often, we would be invaded by trolls who basically shut down the board. No way to keep them off a public board. That was the main reason many of us were happy to be invited to this board where at least we weren't subject to such invasions. There are many topics of interest that are discussed here, some interest me, some don't and I suspect everyone can say the same. My question is why bother with what folks on another board are saying? Does it seem off the wall that folks are responding to a horse? Sure, but so what?

Don't you think there is a reason people respond that way? You're preaching is too much and you make everything about how special and enlightened you are. Great, no one cares. My question is, after how much preaching are you going to realize no one wants it?

It's funny that people talk to a horse online as if she is really responding. That's it.

Now that you mention it....yeah, I do feel empowered to determine what treatment others deserve from me. Who else would decide such a thing?
Do I think I'm "better" than some of the people posting on that site? Yes, yes I do.

Seems funny to me, I simply state my opinion and because you disagree, I'm acting like I'm "special, enlightened" while you state your opinion and that's somehow different. Also, who is the arrogant one here? Me or you for thinking you speak for the entire board...might surprise you to know there are actually some folks here who agree with me. But then, it's easier to dismiss someone with personal comments than to respond to what they post

Well, at least you are honest.

I responded to what you posted. I told you no one (I should have said 99.9% of the board, my bad) wants to be preached to. We get it, you're better than us all. Whatever.

If I act like you in 30 years I'm throwing myself in front of a train.

Probably the person who is basically saying:

I'm better than all of you because you keep acting like you're better than all of them.

And how exactly do I do that? By simply stating my opinion which often times is different than those who deem it necessary to respond with personal attacks. My opinions are no better or worse than the next guy's... because I may see something differently than somebody else doesn't make me act like I'm somehow "better".

Well, you asked the question about who was being arrogant.
I answered it.

Excellent point.

I'm embarrassed to think how over the top I thought people were going over Funny Cide.

OMG, I’m so sorry Zenniegirl. It wasn’t in the stars. I will light some candles for you and set up a prayer virgil. I will fast until you become with child. The lord who took BARBARO away from us is sometimes unjust, but he works in strange ways. Now, I believe that BARBARO was meant to be the horsie-husband of Zennie. Why else would he take away this foal. Bernardi was the winner in the Preekness, ONLY because BARBARO lost his life under suspicious cirscumstances. The Mooses should breed Zennie to LENTENOR or NICANOR, then she would be in foal immediately. This needs to be done.

This one is obviously a spoof. Okay, DTers, which one of you did this? An excellent job, especially the typos and generous use of capitalizations, but the "I will fast until you become with child" was a bit of a giveaway.

Let us swear allegiance to a horse that’s free,
Let us all be grateful for a horse so fair,
As we raise our voices in a solemn prayer. ”
God Bless Zenyatta,
Horse that I love.
Stand beside her, and guide her
Thru the night with Bernie’s Pud on her nub.
From the mounting, to the neighing,
To the moans, white with foam
God bless Zenyatta, My horse sweet horse.

I would expect Coach to find a visual for the post. Something like:

Zenyatta should be given the job of expanding horse racing's presence in the media, after all, she brings fans in droves. But why stop there with such a talent, she should be made Horse Racing Czar.
