This post caught my attention, when I think back to last year, I didn't think Blame would have made a good training pony for Summer Bird, now obviously he has improved this year, just adding Gomez was improvement enough. But had Summer Bird not been hurt last year, and yes I know I may be somewhat biased, he would have cleaned up the male division this year. He was still improving as a 3 year old and at 4 with those connections, wacky owner and all, he would have had a campaign that would have made Cigar proud. There would be no question who the HOY would be for 2010.

Actually under the current trend of projecting accomplishment rather than achieving it SB may be the upset choice to be older horse this year. Zenyatta did beat him after all.
