I have unlimited PPs at DRF.com, but I didn't even know about the sibling summary. Where do you find it?

You have to be in formulator and you click the dam... You will see it, its always in blue. I never knew till Hockey2315 told me over the summer during Saratoga.

If you're not in Formulator, when you open Premium PPs for a track, there should be a bunch of options above the PP links (Selections, Analysis, etc.), and Sibling Summary should be the last one. Like RHT said, if you're in Formulator, click on the dam's name.

impressive...though I tend to discount any run in the slop...obviously a very talented horse.

The time was pretty slow, but the way he was bet you have to think hes the goods.

He was a friends favorite when they prepped him as a baby. We have the mare here where I work so fingers crossed that he does well and goes on.

Probably that Brisnet pedigree CD-ROM they sell for a ridiculous amount.

It's got every TB bred in the USA going back about 50-60 years. Every mares every foal. It's pretty sweet.

I just have the basic PDF PPs. I see "Selections", Analysis", etc. but I don't see "Sibling Summary". I guess you need to have either Formulator or Premium PPs. I should have switched to Formulator a long time ago. I'm just so used to using the basic PPs that I didn't want to switch. But it sounds like Formulator has alot of extra features that would be very useful to me. When my current plan expires, I will switch to Formulator.

I think he's got some size to him but you can't always tell on the videos. I've been fooled before.

There is a 3 year old I really like named Hunch. He's actually entered on Friday at Hollywood Park. I think they're just going to give him the race as a prep for the Malibu. He hasn't run in 6 months. He's eligible to run nwx1 and there is a nwx1 on the main track on Sunday at 6 1/2 furlongs. Instead of running him in there, they're running him over his conditions in a nwx2 on Friday on the grass at 6 furlongs. The horse has never run on the grass. The race on Sunday is 13 days before the Malibu. I think they're running him on Friday instead for two reasons. First, he will have an extra 2 days (15 instead of 13) before the Malibu. Second, they don't want him to run too hard so they don't want to run him on his preferred surface. Those are the only possible two reasons why they would want to run him in a nwx2 on the grass instead of a nwx1 on a track that he loves.

I guess they could be thinking that the race on Friday may come off the grass, but why would they take the gamble? Once in a while in California, the racing secretary will allow a guy to enter for "main track only" even though it's not denoted in the DRF in California. I guess that is a possibility. But that wouldn't make much sense because entires for Sunday are tomorrow. Tomorrow when they draw entires for Sunday, they won't even know if the race on Friday is coming off the grass or not.

One more possibility is that they may feel they absolutely have to give him a prep race before the Malibu, and they didn't want to take a chance of Sunday's race not filling.

Anyway, assuming they just give him the race on Friday, he will probably be 15-1 in the Malibu. That would be the time to bet him. If he runs hard and wins the allowance race, I wouldn't like him coming back in two weeks.

The race today ended up coming off the grass and it ended up being a 4 horse field. Hunch was 8-5, which isn't a bad price on the best horse in a 4 horse field. I couldn't make a big bet though because I did find out that they were in fact planning on running in the Malibu in 15 days. So I knew that they didn't want him to run too hard today. He ended up winning pretty easily. He was geared down the final 70 yards or so. He didn't run his hardest but he still ran harder than I would have liked for a horse that is going to run back in 15 days. I'm on the fence about him in the Malibu.

On Monday, Neil Howard unleashed a Smart Strike 2yo named Bravo Whiskey (race 7 at the Fair Grounds), who romped going 6f on the slop coming from well off the pace.

It's really awesome for when you're bored and just start putting in names of runners you liked at one time or another...amazing how many runners you find that are related to one another in some way that you'd never have thought.

Pretty much the coolest thing ever, in a nerd-out kind of way.
