And the last time I saw you was 2007, way before you became DT's 10,000-post voice of the wacko right. I looked for you at Saratoga every time I was there but only found your dad (who I like, by the way). Even if I did see you, the last thing I want to do at the track is spar about politics with a rigid right-wing ideologue. That's time that could be spent losing money.

I was talking about color tone(kind of racist) I still like you, promise to watch your show on CNBC too.

i lean liberal on a lot of things but taxes and government spending are not one of them. the rate of taxation in this country approaches that of socialistic countries without the benefits such as governmental health care and reasonably priced higher education. it isn't just dems or repubs being fiscally irresponsible... it's everyone, to the point that i consider them criminal for stealing from the American public.

Exactly, the usual protester types. From what i saw and was reported that wasnt the case.

I'm assuming no more than most.

I got the same handout everyone got last year, and outside of that, I'm paying them every nickel I owe them....and they're not giving me anything in return really.

Except war, that is....but that's a whole 'nother conversation.

75 senators voted for the authorization to go to war , 1/2 of the dems voted for it - why didn't they listen to the elder statesmen of their party (kennedy + byrd)?

the country was at most 50/50 to go , but, he senate ended up around 75% for

as a dem how do you feel how your senator voted ( i don't know how the ill senators voted)

my aunt voted for hillary over lazio because in her opinion she would stand up to the evil right , but, as we that vote turned back to haunt her against Obama in the primaries

Durbin voted against it, which is all I could ask for...and all I would expect, since Durbin generally does the right thing IMO.

there was overwhelming support for the war in 2002/2003. it was nothing like 50/50. as a nation we rushed in without thinking through consequences just as we may try to rush out without thinking through consequences.

we were badly misled about the need to go to war, but that doesn't change the fact that this was a war supported by most americans, including me at the time.

it's puzzling that anyone thinks otherwise. it wasn't that long ago.

Science Fridays on NPR????

Neither "side" should miss this.

People like to forget their little errors.
I was totally convinced Iraq had WMD's...
Totally...

Its rather embarrassing looking back on it.
I just did not think WE could make an error
this massive.

the worst part for me was my girlfriend at the time was convinced the wmd's were bs and i was convinced she was a conspiracy nut.

the president wouldn't lie.

i still think she just got lucky. she also believed in aura's.

I did/thought exactly the same thing.
Only I argued with my "boss" Principal.

Past tense because she no longer believes,
or she is no longer your girlfriend? If it's the later...
Very California.

In a country pretty much split down the middle politically, why then are conservative columinists, radio hosts and TV guys that hugely outnumber anything Liberal? Because the right listens to that stuff and the left doesn't...maybe it's a personality thing? And I answered your question with a question:confused:

And I think Bill Maher is brilliant and hilarious, but I still won't make time for that.

I have a thought on this one (bolded):

Often times liberals use self-righteous indignation to
argue with conservatives and it leaves many conservatives
looking like they are amoral beasts. These talk shows
teach conservatives how to argue with liberals. Its like
a Conservative Arguement book for Dummies, only on the
radio.

So now I set the liberals up with a fat pitch...
Making Conservative Arguement for Dummies, one in the same.
Spare me.
