My dad on Lidge: "He's as phuckin shaky as Mitch Williams was... yadda yadda yadda...Manuel is a DOPE for taking Hamels out...yadda yadda yadda WTF Manuel???"

Let's Go Phils, pull this $hit out!!!!

EDIT (postgame about Lidge)::: "He stinks!"

declansharbor 10-01-2008 04:54 PM

Note to self.

Never watch a meaningful Phils/Eagles game with him again. I don't care if my TV isnt a hi-def flat screen, this was just outrageous. He loudly summoned my sister and her friends to the basement when they came in and tweaked up the 'mojo' in the 9th.

I suppose Eckersley was a post season choker and should be booted out of the hall of fame because he gave up a HR to Gibson. At least Lidge got beat by the best hiter since Ted Williams.

35-pitch save and puts tying runs in scoring position after coming in with 3-0 lead. Let's hope for the Phillies sake that this is as bad as it gets, but I doubt it.

Did he boo Santa Claus?

horseofcourse 10-01-2008 08:55 PM

So that puts him at 42 for 42 this year when entering the 9th with a 1, 2, or 3 run lead?? That is a tough thing to deal with.

LMAO. He didn't(so he says). But that St. Nick was a staggering drunk, so he should have.

CC Sabathia led both the American League and National League in shutouts this year. My guess is, we'll likely not see something like that happening ever again. Absolutely no pressure on him tomorrow!

Great stuff.

I love watching folks who love/hate their team.
And Philly fans... Impossible to please insures great comedy.

He gave up on run when Utley fell down. He did strike out the side and K'ed Fielder. Save number 1.

Funny story about 700 level crowd.

TB/PHI NFC Championship, Last football game at the Vet(and last sporting event attended with my late friend Cory). About 5 minutes after Jurevicius toasted Levon Kirkland acrossed the middle, some guy is walking up the aisle with a red and black jacket on carrying food and a beer. He's about 5 rows from us, headed our way, when out of nowhere, some HUGE dude jumps into teh aisle and straight punches this guy in the mug, sending food and drink everywhere. He then unloads a few shots on him when he's on the ground, saying "F da Bucs, F da Bucs". The guy that got mollywhopped gets up all bloodied and starts screaming "Its a phuckin Marlboro jacket, its a marlboro jacket WTF".:D :D..The boo's start flying, the whole section is in an outrage to get JUICE head booted from the game. Finally, the food starts flying, he packs up his things (his wife) and hightails it out of there. Pure knucklehead, but it made for a funny story after the fact, knowing it was 2 Philly fans.

A week later Im listening to 610 WIP (local sports radio) and I hear a familiar voice telling the same exact story. Here, it turns out it was a buddy from school's dad who was mistaken as the Bucs fan, they had seats in the last row of the nosebleeds.

Cory and I always talked about that being one of the crazier moments we've ever shared, and it will forever hold a place in my heart.

 he was one single away from singlehandedly blowing a 3-0 lead. If you're going to chalk that up as a win for your side, I quit this discussion.

I hate not having a pro sports team to root for around here

My boss is from Philly and he told me a story about how the Eagles fans beat up that old man that dresses up as the Redskins indian. He said they got him in the parking lot, beat him to a pulp and then stripped him naked. The guy ended up in the hospital.

They won the game by 2 runs. It is a save. He has blown zero this season. I'm sure every one wasnt 1,2,3.
