i think jess jackson did a very smart thing in keeping curlin in training, since all the other horses who could make him run a bit all left the scene. just like invasor at this point last year. and i'd take invasor over curlin.... hell, i'd even put bernardini over curlin at this point. staying in training at four, altho i appreciate it, does not make him a better horse. |

Prado is the best jockey in the business. If hes on the best horse you generally are given a good shot to win
I cant stand Robby Albarado. He waits too long to ask for run, and hes always getting horses in trouble. Gomez is a bonehead, hes just a strong finisher |

He always puts a horse in a position to win, and he is the best finisher in the US. He gets more out of the horses than anyone else because he is so physical on them. IMO, Prado is good, but he isn't as good as Gomez. If Prado was better than Gomez, he would be beating him on the money earned list. To me, denying that Gomez is the best jockey at this point is like denying that Todd Pletcher is the best trainer. |

Curlin looked great today. Not sure of the level of competition, but he looked great.
Jockeys--amazing that some on here know about jockeys and their jobs. i had no clue that some of you were past jockeys. |

Here is my example. Quite often going into the 3YO campaign, one of the leading money earners will be the winner of the fraud of a race called the Delta Jackpot. Here is the list of fantastic horse flesh that has conquered that task. 2007 Z Humor (DH) Garrett Gomez 2007 Turf War (DH) Calvin Borel 2006 Birdbirdistheword Robby Albarado 2005 no race 2004 Texcess Victor Espinoza 2003 Mr Jester Roman Chapa 2002 Outta Here Kent Desormeaux How many of these "leading money earners" would you consider the best? Gomez spends half of the year in California racing against kids and east coaster like Mike Smith who needed to get away from the East so they could win a few races. And those so called Grade 1 and Grade 2 races with four, five and six horse fields (this weekend excluded), do more to pad his earnings than actual ability. Funny that Gomez even pads the earnings at Delta (2007). Gomez certainly is at the top of the jockey list, but he is certainly not in a league of his own, and money earned really has nothing to do with it. I don't feel the need to comment on your closing statement. |

I guess if you think the hottest person in the bar is the one with the most money then you also form indefensibly ignorant opinions about trainers using similar logic. |

Curlin
Excuse please if this was already posted
but I saw a replay of his tuneup race. The thing that was interesting to note is he looks so big. Maybe it was the camera angle or something but the horse looks like a flippn barrel... all lungs. Maybe he was running against a bunch of little horses. |
