One more thing....Rodgers' is going to put that fake touchdown play into the game plan for next week.

Bet it works, too.

horseofcourse 10-21-2012 04:22 PM

As dumb as it sounds, here's what I do if I'm new owner. Keep Mr Rogers as coach. Do not restart it, do not do anything. They're the youngest team in the league. They do have some talent. Weeden is getting better each and every game with Mr rogers. Let it go. Everyone hated Belichick when he was in Cleveland too. Turned out he could coach. It won't happen, but I would keep him as stupid as it sounds.

pointmanscousin 10-21-2012 04:37 PM

I.......I...............................

I need some time to compose myself.

It's not working.

thud!

horseofcourse 10-22-2012 08:44 AM

Lot's of times the opposite is true. In fact so far the opposite, the false is true. Maybe in Mr Rogers case, well, maybe???? Perhaps it is a thud. :D:D:D with cleveland sporty things you just have to completely lose your mind at times in analysis and just go to false analysis

horseofcourse 10-22-2012 08:45 AM

ON to the probation division of the leaders division championship of the big 10!

or is is legends division, probation subset of the big 10....it gets so confusing to split it out.

horseofcourse 10-22-2012 09:04 AM

yeah enough of this Browns nonsense and you have to take the "opposite" is true stance to defend them, lets go to pure quality.....

I’m one of those guys that doesn’t think a MLB manager makes a great deal of difference to a team’s record. That’s why I still don’t understand the Terry Francona hiring. And I may never understand why Francona wanted the job given the dearth of talent he inherits here.

Take a look at the lineup of position players objectively and tell me this team isn’t a long way off. Third base is a hole with either an ineffective veteran like Jack Hannahan or unproven young player Lonnie Chisenhall in line for most of the time there.

AT SS you have a solid MLB player in Cabrera.

At 2B you have a decent player in Jason Kipnis, but he’s a guy Tribe fans currently overvalue. I love Kipnis and his approach and believe he has a chance to elevate himself from ‘decent’ to ‘good’. But if you think he’s beyond that right now then take a look at the Tigers Omar Infante, a guy who personifies ‘decent’, and tell me Kipnis is the better player. He’s not. Infante out produces Kipnis pretty much everywhere other than in stolen bases.

First base is a hole that has no promise of being fulfilled by a Tribe prospect, your productive (but not elite) RF will likely be gone at the end of 2013 if not before, your CF is solid, your LF is non-existent and your catcher is an enigma who’s quickly running out of ‘prospect’ status. That doesn’t even include how erratic your top two pitchers in the rotation were this season and that you have no “can’t miss” pitching prospects on the farm ready to burst on the scene.

That’s a lot of mediocrity to overcome, which would be one thing if you could buy your way out of it, but the Indians can’t/won’t do that. That’s why I can’t help but be bearish on the Indians chances heading into 2013. This team needs way too many breaks and once again you’re betting on the “if come” if you think they’ll contend next season.

(in other words we're back in the late 70s 80s!! 1975-1992 we're right at the beginning of that period) we do have a 25 win Cav season commencing next week so there is that.

pointmanscousin 10-22-2012 01:26 PM

That was uncalled for

Let's have a score prediction.

Coach Pants 10-22-2012 02:07 PM

Let me be the first to apologize for Todd Ple...err Nick Saban's handling of Trent Richardson. Now granted the kid looked like a 30 year old man when he was 18. It wasn't the steroids.

:D:D

pointmanscousin 10-22-2012 03:17 PM

Oh gosh,hat were pretty funny.

But now that I think of the analogy....it's sssso true.

It's State Penn -1.

That's really going out on a limb, but America will soon speak.

Don't know who wins, but the score should be ,oh....say like 72-71 or 3-2.

Hey we all kid ourselves in these kid games played by adults and administered by lunatics.

At least our teams aren't administered by kiddy fiddlers.

TheSpyder 10-22-2012 08:35 PM

You two should go on the road.

pointmanscousin 10-23-2012 08:38 AM

Mr. Arachnid;

I am not in a state of full understanding as to what : 1) "you two" is...or are 2) What "take it on he road " means.

Thanks so much,

ClydeyPoo

I couldn't predict this game at all so I will. Penn State's qb who appeared to really stink the last two years is playing really well. which perhaps gives credence that the game had passed by the corpses running the show previously. Miller I guess is playing for OSU although he didn't look good before his injury against Purdue who really stinks and they were very lucky to beat them. I could see either team winning or losing by 20. I'll say OSU 38-28. Penn State's field goal kicker is really bad too, after he missed 5 field goals and an extra point against Virginia, they go for it on 4th down inside the 35 unless they're inside the 10. That will bite them this game ( although they haven't lost since that game with that strategy).

They do have somewhat of a negative image to overcome;that being looked at as a Catholic school.

"White out" shows a lack of racial jurisprudence and only adds to the tarnish.

I will not be an Ohio State fan again until Luke Fickell is back as head coach,as long as it is for less than a one million dollar salary.

Hey isn't fickell still D coordinator? I know why the D stinks this year now, It's an underhanded plot by Urban to can the D coordinator after the season!

Good deal.

Am noting you as grossly overestimating Ohio State.

You know it!!

Actually, he is....but Inner City brought in a guy from another school to co-coordinate the defense. He has only mentioned Fickell since the Indiana disaster, further indicating this lurid plot.

I need to investigate the pizza delivery guy who claimed he got fired by Fickell's wife after complaining about OSU's defense to them delivering a pie. That has inner city (I like that!) written all over it too. another set up all the way. Trying to pin bad publicity all over Fickell.

horseofcourse 10-26-2012 12:00 AM

Oh My God!! Game 7 of the 1997 World Series is on right now on EVPN Classic. I'm hoping Mesa can get through the 9th this time. do you think he will?? You can do it Jose!!

horseofcourse 10-26-2012 12:11 AM

You'll be pleased to know Mike Jackson and Brian Anderson worked a 1-2-3 bottom of the 8th. I'm going to bed, I think we got this one!

Disgusting.

I think we should not watch the 9th....and believe he got us through.

What we believe is true in our mind.....is true to no doubt.

horseofcourse 10-27-2012 07:49 PM

I'm a hoss...of coss. I said 38-28 Buckeyes and it was 35-23 Buckeyes. If there's two things I know it's Ohio State football and Penn State football and Cleveland Indians baseball. Wait, that's 3 things. I'm even better than I thought!! :D

pointmanscousin 10-28-2012 12:41 AM

Very admirable work....impressive.

My turn.

Ohio State is home to the Fighting Vagini next Saturday; a game that merits an 8:00 AM kickoff.

They will lose 37-33.

You think inner city's gonna get a big head after clinching the probation division? The vagini are a hideous team.

I would think so.

After all, there are no unbeatens in the Patsy Div. either.

I very much enjoy the fact this is much more popular than the puny, carping Jets thread. Here, we just don't care. It's a no carping zone.2 minutes to go, Browns up 7-6 with the Chargers at their 21.

Not looking good for the Browns.

pointmanscousin 10-28-2012 03:03 PM

The Browns won.

thud

horseofcourse 10-28-2012 03:08 PM

7-6. Evidently it is a rainy day in grand northeast Ohio! 2 out of 3 now. Mr Rogers beats the Ravens next week, he may have a chance to save his job!! I think he needs to go 5-3 last half to please the new fantabulous owner. I'd say chances of that are 2.9 percent. i'm looking forward to the 10th restart of the new and improved Browns.

horseofcourse 10-28-2012 03:23 PM

Evidently a Chargers receiver dropped a wide open touchdown similar to how that happened to the Browns last week. All things are even now. the Browns are free to now drop ininite amounts of passes.

pointmanscousin 10-28-2012 05:59 PM

Frank Lee, I don't see that he will make it unless there is a huge turn around.Myself,I never went along with a coach who has a team with nowhere to go but up,everything to gain and nothing to lose....yet he will still punt from the opponents 40 on 4th and 1 and is love with field goals.

Know what you mean.

Butterfingers candy bars are missing one great marketing opportunity here. They should be dying to be the official Brown's candy bar.

I will mention Mr Rogers did go for it on 4th and 1 from the 28 in the 1st quarter when that is well within Dawson's automatic range, but perhaps the rain and wind made mr automatic not that. They made it and went on to score the game's only touchdown so perhaps he might be learning??

No, probably not. He'll probably say, "I made it there, but that means I'm now safe to not go for it the next 10 times."

horseofcourse 10-30-2012 03:39 PM

It's hard to believe we have yet to find an outfielder in the dominican Republic so here you go....

The Tribe is going into International waters once again, jumping over to Asia to ink 18-year-old outfielder Takuya Tsuchida to a deal. He's a faster guy with athleticism who can apparantely also play second base. Perhaps he's a possible answer to the left field hole. With more room in the international spending cap, the Indians signed their second Asian player this offseason.

things are really getting fixed up here!!

pointmanscousin 10-30-2012 06:15 PM

No kidding?

That's almost as exciting as when the Damon signing was announced last year.Who could know he would not go back 10 years and star for the Tribe?

I have to really credit that front office. They leave no grave unturned to get talent here.

18 huh? Ain't that a little old for the Indians??

horseofcourse 10-30-2012 08:41 PM

the Cleveland Cavaliers are currently on pace to go 82-0. I'll ignore the fact that the team they beat is talent wise comparable to a middle of the pack MAC team. By gosh it's a win!!

pointmanscousin 10-31-2012 01:26 PM

This is so exciting.

I hope they can continue winning when they face NBA teams.

Lest minor league hockey steals their thunder.

horseofcourse 10-31-2012 02:52 PM

I would be remiss if I didn't mention that the guy they drafted 4 overall whom I made fun of all offseason completely outplayed the guy drafted 1 spot before him at number 3. So I must be fair and mention that. He really outplayed him so maybe I was wrong about this one. I hope so. the new big Z struggled from what I read about the game in his first outing. the flopping wild haired Brazilian put on quite the show evidently as did Mr Kyrie (the one that will actually stay, LOL!!! I'm gonna go way out on a limb early and say Nets/knicks will be Mr Kyrie's destination. It's never too early to start speculation on this stuff on where the Cleveland stars will go).

No way can the vagini beat OSU. I say 42 point spread minimum.
