Singleton's horses taken from Waterhouse
Caryl Williamson 08:00 AEST Sun Apr 28 2013 (excerpt) Millionaire horse owner and racing identity John Singleton has been true to his word with trucks rolling in this morning to remove his horses from Gai Waterhouse's stables. http://wwos.ninemsn.com.au/article.aspx?id=8649500 |

M'l on Moment of Change is 4/5?
Yosei for me (Michelle Payne once said this was her favorite horse. Awww. :) ) in the Goodwood tonight. 4 mins till R1... going with the 1, Iconic, and a straight tri - 1/2/6. (... and 5 across on Under the Eiffel @ Caulfield. That's it for tonight). |
HUGE step up for Steps in Time this weekend. I'd imagine her odds will go even higher.
Worth a shot. I don't think she has ever let me down. :$: Is this Rangi's swansong? Every time he races I wonder that. Stellar field... can't wait! Epaulette, Rain Affair, BTR... lots of the same horses but add in Yosei, Quest for Peace, Manawanui (sp) et al seems like a much tougher field and no idea what the weather is but I won't be using him in the first two spots. (Unless the track is reeeally heavy). Another thing is with the 15 hole... traditionally that's not a plus, right? 8 or lower or something like that (for this race...most of the time, anyway)? Awesome to see Tim Clark have the Rangi mount (I know he's ridden him before but not lately). Sticking with Steps in Time and will use Yosei, Sea Siren and either Buffering or Epaulette and then toss Rangi in at the bottom. Guess I'll use Your Song underneath as well. So happy to see you here, Moodwalker.:) |
Not sure how to play this. I keep trying to put together a tri and a super and having a hard time with such a big (and good!) field.
All I have so far is $20. w/p (Steps) and an exacta with Steps and Yosei over Steps, Yosei, Sea Siren, Epaulette, Rangi, BTR and Buffering. I will use Your Song in the 3rd spot... just haven't figured it all out yet. If he wins? You can tell everybody this is Your Song, Moodwalker. :p (Good luck to Precedence in the following race who I will not be playing but who I love so much). :) |
Nooooo not Rangi.:(:(:(
|
Sorry for the outburst but am sick to my stomach.
To update Epaulette won followed by Sea Siren and Buffering. I did end up betting Precedence in that last race cause the last time I specifically said I wouldn't he did well. He just won. M/l was 20/1 but he went off at 11/1 More importantly though am just so completely and deeply sorry for Chris Waller. Poor Rangi. Some days racing just ****ing sucks. |
Wasn't playing tonight but I just took a look at the odds on Crystal Ruby in the 1st at Caulfield and might as well, just that one race. If she's anywhere near as good as her sister was...
Best of luck tonight if you're playing and wishing a safe trip home for all, especially the boys in the 7th at Doomben. edit - Okay well have to play a few win bets... Rock Princess in the 5th, Elite Elle in the 6th and Cellarmaster in the final. |

edit - win bet on Winta Chilla in the 7th and I'm boxing him (8) with the 1 and the 7) |
Wasn't planning on playing tonight BUT I just noticed that Thumbtacks is in R5 @ Flemington (m/l is 8/1) so have to play him to win.
Good luck if you're playing tonight. edit: :wf |

Anyone playing Caulfield tonight?
I think I'm going with the filly, Elite Elle, in the Bletchingly... I like Sea Lord and Mr. Make Believe a lot but Sea Lord never comes through for me (well he doesn't! He's turning in to another Linton) and Mr. Make Believe wasn't exactly stellar in his last 2 starts. Second Effort is the only other one I was considering putting in the top spot but this I'll use him and the heavy favorite, Pago Rock, in the second spot and toss Zamorar in underneath. |
Wow I crazy payout for the place horse!
Race #4 8:58pm POS # Horse Win Place Show 1 5 Use The Lot $24.30 $12.40 $7.10 2 18 Stable Star - $110.80 $24.80 3 8 Spring Cheer - - $5.70 4 16 Tampere Quote:
Second Effort wins. |
Noms for next weekend (Warwick)...
Looking good! http://risa.com.au/FreeFields/Nomina...Warwick%20Farm |

My dilemma.... Veyron is one of my favorite horses but inmy heart of hearts I don't see him winning.
Problem is on paper I keep looking at him (and at Streama). Love Rain Affair here and Nash onboard is even better but it's that barrier that troubles me. Not sure what to make of GG being here and oh Metal Bender.. welcome back. :) Have blown so much on Cent Park so am avoiding sorry to say... WILL use Tremec and Hawkspur underneath so maybe something like a tri with... Streama, Veyron / Rain Affair / Streama, Veyron, Foreteller, Tremec, Hawkspur ... with a win bet on either Veyron or Streama. Lock of the day - Sacred Flyer in R1 but there will be no odds so forget it. I like Vilanova in R5, crazy longshot Tom's Rocket in r6 for reasons beyond my control :D and Sizzling in the final (m/l is 7/1). |
I am going to be sick because I am so stunned... was upset cause three different horses that I liked and didn't play won (that isn't redboarding if I didn't bet right?) BUT **** that I just won the most I've ever won on any single race.
YEA!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! POS # Horse Win Place Show 1 5 Veyron $66.10 $10.80 $6.70 2 14 Streama - $3.60 $2.60 3 3 Rain Affair - - $2.60 4 4 Beaten Up - - - $2.00 Quinella 5-14 $59.90 $1.00 Exacta 5-14 $114.60 $1.00 Trifecta 5-14-3 $402.45 $1.00 Superfecta 5-14-3-4 $2545.30 THank you Veyron :{>:and Streama and Rain Affair!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! |
Lest anyone forgets... the Memsie Stakes @ Caulfield tonight!
Can't wait to see Miracles of Life again although that race won't be worth playing. I always seem to lose with Under The Eiffel so now that I won't be playing him tonight? Watch him win. Good luck to Yosei (and Michelle). I have to play her to win no matter what (10/1 on the m/l; and she hasn't exactly been spectacular lately, but...). Lots of nice names in R7 and that's the one, besides THE race, I want to try to hit. That one should have monstrous payouts. :$: Good luck if you're playing tonight. (Ed, if you're around, is Mufhasa scratched from this as well?). |
6 minutes till r1 and Spirit of Heaven is at no odds. Okaaaay I will go with Miralago.
Lucky Chappy in r5 (20/1 m/l) and will edit in picks for the last 2 races latah. edit - :wf :D |
Even though she didn't exactly run a great race in her only start @ Flemington there is NO reason why Steps In Time can't win the Gilgai Stakes tonight (r9). M/l is 7/1 and with Sessions, Spirit of Boom and Galah in the field I'd imagine they'll go a bit higher.
In the Turnbull Puissance De Lune deserves to be the favorite but I'm playing against him...I think one of my favorite old guys, Precedence, will scratch (?) and I love Qunitessenial and Silent Acheiver so much but (I'm just noticing the insane morning line on a few like Sangster) I think I'll go with Hawkspur. HAVE to include Fawkner (who LOVES Flemington) and Fiorents underneath. Oh and PdL. Sitting out the Flight S. cause there will be no odds on Guelph who, to me, is the lock of the day. Streama and Veyron :{>: box at Randwick with Sizzlling tossed in for a tri in the Epsom... Good luck to Youthful Jack at Doomben (not playing - rooting only). Good luck if you're playing tonight. :) * * * * * edit - Didn't do well but very happy to see Steps in Time get 3rd. Results of the Turnbull... Happy Trails  PDL Fawkner Fiorente Hawkspur All the top runners looked reeeally good. Here's hoping Hay List is finally retired now. :( |

Horrified to see another name on Yosei but alas... Michelle Payne is suspended.

Nice win by Solzhenitsyn...

Is anyone playing the Geelong Cup tonight?
Looking at the form for Polish Knight is kind of like looking in the fridge repeatedly and hoping something good magically appears. I want him to have a chance but I guess he really doesn't. My favorite jockey in the world is on Forgotten Voice (who I do like so much) and had two words to say... He'll win. This was my thinking too and I wasn't planning on playing but decided to take a look (well really to see how Coins looked in the final... she could win :) ) and now I keep coming back to Crafty Cruiser. I think I'll just do a small win bet (one on Coins too) and leave it at that Like I said wasn't planning on playing tonight so am just keeping it simple. Good luck if you're playing! edit - :wf |
Anyone playing the Villiers Stakes tonight?
Looking at Monton, Alma's Fury and Absalon (who I thought was going to be at lower odds). Coup Ay Tee is the favorite... think I will stick him in the 2nd spot (with Monton and Absalon) and use Alma on top. edit - Have Dual Star in the next race... Good luck if you're playing tonight. |

(Only played him to win). Vienna Royale is at 1/5 @ Doomben (???)... taking Flying Lucky (23/1) across the board and a win bet on Architect in the 7th. edit - :wf |
