Girls beating the boys happens more on turf because it's tried about 10x more on turf here.

9 straight grade 1 races and never faced a good horse....how does that happen?

How many times does someone have to explain it before it sinks in?

There is nothing at all to explain, NOTHING. They set this big race up. They both had soft soft preps, they were both odds on. Z ROLLS, AND SHOWS UP. Rachel gets beat, and backs out. Thats not Z or the connections fault. Even a Z hater should admit this as factual.

It is, I can admit Z campaign sucks. Yea she should have shipped this year and last. But the specific Oaklawn issue is plain and simple.

No it's not. They felt as though she wasn't where she needed to be to make the race. In hindsight, they were right.

Zenyatta has added about a million to her earnings thus far this year.

If the opportunity is there to pick up "an easy" million, and still be prepping for The Classic, I'd offer the connections might be wise.

her owners have 100's of millions which blows that usually sound theory.

True enough, but racing history clocks comparison earnings like baseball fans track lifetime stats.

I think 20-0 and retiring as a 6 year old mare beating the best young boys in The Classic has been the goal for all of 2010.

Just out of curiosity who are the grade 1 winners that raced this year other than Zenyatta in socal? Where are these grade 1 winners going to come from to populate the races?

The answer to your first question has been discussed already. None in socal. For all of the talk about how great it was she shipped to Oaklawn, when you look at the field, not so much.

Where are they going to come from? They aren't going to run in California. But they were at Churchill, Keeneland, Belmont and Saratoga. The best don't wait for others to come to them...they seek out the best.

The connections of Goldikova, Gio Ponti and Blind Luck disagree.

When you show it like this, the schedule becomes even more deplorable.

Reading some of the comments here, I'm curious to all the detractors of Zenyatta will they offer 10-1 odds that she will not win the classic?

What gambler would offer 10-1 on a horse that will be the prohibitive favorite?

Well, I wouldn't because I think there's a real possibilty she can win, but others may be dead set against her. Or it certainly sounds like it from reading the posts here of late.

Reading some of the comments here, I'll offer 3:2 odds to anyone that thinks she will win. Sounds a lot fairer than your offer.

Will you offer 10/1 that she doesn't run?

I dont buy the idea that she has won easily in every race this year. And they may have made $2 million if they had been a little more adventerous. I also dont buy that you need the entire year to prep for one race.

It might have been the goal, but the "stats geeks" might like to see how often 3yos win in Grade 1s against older in the fall. For Zenyatta to beat Lucky or Blame won't prove that much to me. And as I have never been a QR fan that won't mean that much to me either, but I think he wins anyway.

Big difference between not thinking a horse will win and offering 10-1 on a horse that will be a prohibitive favorite. I would think this should be obvious.

Will be HUGE if she can beat G1 males which are two and three years younger.

I am not saying I disagree, I am saying its a reason the BC draws a 0.2 share on ESPN.

She could run her best race and still finish second, Blame or Quality Road could both run career highs? Lookin at Lucky is an improving 3 yr old and could be deemed as extremely dangerous, and finally those that believe Zenyatta has beaten nothing in her career, as you have pointed out many times here would entertain the thought atleast.
