Some of the best pitching I've seen in a while in this SF/Phi series. Through 1.5 games that is...and The Freak and The General haven't even pitched.

Eugene the entertainer hits 1st pitch of the game out. He and Torres are fighting for the starting left fielder job. |
San Francisco - Bottom of 3rd
E Velez walked. F Sanchez sacrificed to pitcher, E Velez to second. P Sandoval doubled to left, E Velez scored. Is this not progress from (what some would call) a precum retard? 2 walks in 1 game:eek: :p |

http://sanfrancisco.giants.mlb.com/n...t=.jsp&c_id=sf This is probably why Len C. Cum has only been dominant in that one game you spoke of. Even then, in that game, his fastball was a lil slower than his norm. They needed to win that Friday night game you spoke of. So, I am not saying it would have been horrible to plunge on that, but just that there's a lot that the general public found out about later than they need to know(if they're gunna bet.) Seems like whoever set the line might have known(or suspected) that it wasn't just the heat n' humidity that caused this guy to get hit hard in Cincy. |
Numbnuts finally gets a bad pitch. Hits it a good 400 feet. Somehow, he manages to find the deepest corner of the park, and costs himself a slam.

All of it. People are always surprised to see a stick figure do that. http://sanfrancisco.giants.mlb.com/m...ent_id=6722871 Needed 2-3 more feet. Tough to get it out at that spot at night. Tons of guys hit it to the warning track in left center. Had a chance at hitting for the cycle, but Ethier robbed him. http://losangeles.dodgers.mlb.com/me...ent_id=6724039 |
Eugenio Velez was 3-for-4 with a home run, two RBI, two runs scored and a stolen base in a win over the Dodgers on Friday night.
With the Rockies loss, the Giants are 2 1/2 games back in the Wild Card. Velez led off the game with his fifth home run of the season. He later chipped in with an RBI double to give the Giants some cushion in the sixth. Velez has cooled quite a bit from his hot-start, but he still has a productive .277/.324/.442 line to go along with five homers, 27 RBI and eight stolen bases in 224 at-bats this season. He shouldn't be a starting outfielder, but with this lineup, he'll be in there more often than not. |
Well, we never talked about whether he was good enough to be a starting outfielder for the Yankees, or the Red Sox. He needs a pitcher who is throwing a lot of pitches. Against a control pitcher, he should just go ahead and swing at the first pitch. When he takes that first strike against a control pitcher, then it gets pretty hopeless for him. He's got a super batting average against the 0-0 pitch. The Giants don't really think though. So, he probably will keep taking the first pitch that comes from a pitcher who is in command of his pitches. Regardless, you could give the Pharaoh some credit for stepping up in what was pretty much a must win game. I mean being 4 1/2 back in the Wild Card was a definite possibility going into last night's game. Padilla had just dominated the Giants last Saturday. They needed a nice start, and he destroys the drunk's 8th pitch to him. Look at the video. Drunk is surprised. Can't even catch Martin's toss of the new ball. Surprised the Drunk didn't throw at him in the next at bat. That odd celebratory clap thing the Pharaoh does (when he crosses the plate etc.) could be seen by some to be a bit much. When he's playing well, he's a lot of fun to watch. Then again, I've been known to watch Turks try to drive.

Dodgers might had given Padilla some payback, but the Giants did the same to Penny yesterday.

I just realized that I mixed that up.
It is the Giants gave Padilla some payback, but the Dodgers decided to payback Penny in a huge way |
Giants, Florida, etc. aren't gunna win 90 games. We can lose the rest of the games, and still get in. People can blame the Giants O all they want, but starters Len C. Cum, Penney, and Cain all came up soft during this important week. Sanchez has been a disappointment for a while. Zito has been the gamest. When you have a noted pitching staff, then they need to shut people down in big games. That's your strength. Believe me, I've watched them the second half, and they would have won the Wild Card if the starters had shut people down better(Cain especially.)

Lidge is cooked. Time for Chuckles to remove his head from his a$$, put his feelings aside and move on from BL. If Chuckles throws him out on that mound again, someone should shoot him. (CM, not Lidge...unless they have another one of those magic bullets that make turns)

last night made me sick. we have no chance in the post season with him pitching. |
Manny really did get screwed on that abat..the guy dropped the ball and rolled on it and got away with it!! Gotta love successful cheaters
Who's the 12 year old lefty striking'em out by the dozen for the blue folks tonight? |
Kershaw is gettin' pinched by a bad man, too. Umps not helping an already bad situation.
|
Why wouldnt you put the .280 hitter on and pitch to to the .108 catcher and pitcher
.........never mind!! |
How can they not make Hudson bunt with no outs man on 1st n' 2nd?
|
Knew it. Fkn think already. FKN ******. If they lose this game, Torre's got a big question to answer. "Joe, don't you think you had a ****** moment when you didn't have Hudson sacrifice in the 5th? Had 1st n' 2nd no outs, and we get no runs, cuz our manager had Hudson try to get a hit. Wow, when you're strugglin' ya do some G D stupid sht like that? Even Trig could of thought that one out better.

Wow!!..A clutch hit. Been a while (got to savor this for a moment.) LOL..Vin Scully saying the Rocks had a terrible break when De La Rosa pulled a groin. LOL...They've been God's Pet all Summer. Fk them.
|
Kemp would swing at his mom's head (if he could reach it.)
|
3 outs away from getting away with this bullsht that's been going on the last week. We struggle against St. Louis, but at least it will start here. We haven't started a playoff series at home in a long time. 2004..Started in St. Louis...2006 Started at Shea....2008 started in Chicago n' then started in Philly. Ain't ideal.
|
Only bad thing about this win was Kershaw didn't get it. If Joe of had Hudson sacrifice, then probably the right guy could of been rewarded for his huge performance. Man, some of these goggles they have on are as ugly as it gets.

Congrats Scuds! You may now turn your backwards blue bandana around now.
I was hoping the Rockies would pull it off so that my preseason pick of them to win the NL West would look other-worldly. That, and I think we stand a better chance of beating the boys in Blue in rd 1. The mental part is what worries me as well. The Phils should feel as if they have the Dodgeys in their left pocket, esp after last year. The year before that, Colorado spanked us in the first round. Rockies are playing some great ball down the stretch this year, with the Phils playing like they are in a mid-season slump. Utley looks spent, the pitching looks very touchable, and the team as a whole doesnt look like they are playing with any urgency. Not a good time to have those Rocks coming in for a series, imo. The one thing about the Phils that does bring a smile to my face is how RyHo isn't just resting on his laurels of being a tremendous power hitter. He's gotten soo much better in every other facet of the game. (fielding, baserunning, hitting the opposite way against the shift) His numbers to start off his career have been astronomical. Let's hope he can keep it up. |
Kershaw Scuds, Kershaw
