After Saturday, I would not bet against Michigan. No Way. Plus, let's see how many teams think about putting A. State on their schedule in '08.

Oregon is a team in the same mold as Ap stae but better. They are fast, can run a spread offense, have a strong running game, are ok aainst the pass and awful against the run. They also have a good return man. If Oregon can create a few turnovers, Michigan wll be o-2. Mike Hart should get 200 yards though. One of the keys to the game last week was Michigans inability to get the ball to Manningham until the final play. If Oregon puts 8 in the box to stop the rushing attack, Henne better find Manningham more often.

Come on..

Canon..Michigan beats ND by at least 14

i respect nd's place in college football history and tradition. they've earned every drop of it.
i dislike the way the ncaa and tv cater to them, whether they deserve it or not.
i also find 3 different groups of nd fans:
a-reasonable, knowledgeable, that you can have a good time with.
b-i'm better that you because i went to nd .
c-last of all, fans like Irish.
they just invite abuse and can't understand why the "world's against them".

First of all, you were the mensa candidate attending community college majoring in, I believe, the taxi cab sciences, until THIS semester. If there weren't enough annoyances to remember you by, there is always your unflappable defense of the 74th (or 75th) best team in the nation. With a moldy tradition that exploits the past glories of a bunch of dead guys from the 30's and 40's, Notre Dame gets publicity it doesn't deserve from a television network that carrries their games exclusively and draws it nationally rated recruits to the program that other schools are at a disadvantage to attract. Add to this the fact that Notre Dame traditionally schedules more cream puffs each year than Charlie Weiss could eat during a half-time snack and it is no wonder why the school has so many detractors.

appalaichan state to replace nd on nbc next year

This one just in appalaichan state to replace notre dame on nbc broadcasts next year! I was so happy to see both notre dame and michigan go down on the same day. Congrats to the mountaineers they deserve all the kudos. Maybe next year they can schedule the golden domers and beat them in south bend. It would have been priceless to be in the big house after that game. Bet the party in boone, north carolina was one for the ages. As for notre dame, get ready for a long and ugly season. Hopefully the irish of nd man wakes up and actually starts cheering for the school he is attending. No more excuses. Can't wait to see brady quinn get in later this season and get jacked up! Way to go rambling wreck and moutaineers. This is what makes college football great! Can't wait to michigan plays wisconsin gonna have to get me an appalaichan state t-shirt and wear it with pride. By the way what do you think the odds are of carr getting fired at the end of this year. I have it at 3 to 5.

Jimmy Clausen showing up in a stretch Hummer didn't do much to help their cause. Charlie Weis suing his surgeon because his fat belly didn't heal properly didn't either.
And what would the precious alumini be doing if Ty Willingham (sp?) had lost the home opener by 30?

and then there's this oldie but a goodie from Irish..

on a side note, there is nothing better than being a Notre Dame fan because I know how much you guys truly do envy Notre Dame. I don't know what it is with all the ND haters, but I find it to be pretty funny. I understand how it is, if I wasn't raised a Notre Dame fan I would probably be pretty upset and envy the Irish as well, but I was just one of the lucky ones. Instead of the hate, you guys can convert over, I promise you will enjoy college football a lot more as a Notre Dame fan.

yes they do! a buddy of mine gives me grief because i'm catholic and don't root for nd or bc. i tell him "i do root for bc, when they play nd !":D

Nascar1966 09-04-2007 11:17 AM

I hate ND for the following reasons:

They dont deserve the TV contract with NBC. They could be 3-8 NBC would let keep the TV contract, while deserving teams like LSU, Texas, Florida, Auburn, and Penn State aren't on every week like they deserve to be.

Why are they still an independent? Are they afrad if they would go to the Big Ten that would no longer get thier undeserving Bullshit Championship Series bowl game. They aren't the only undeserving team for that.

I am very sure that other people will agree with those two reasons, especially if they have a clue about college football.

i know you're supposed to give 10%, i didn't know rooting for the team was also a requirement..but i haven't been a practicing catholic in some time, so i guess i'm slipping.

clausen to start saturday vs the nittany lions. he's their 'best shot at a win'. three huge losses in a row for notre dame now. and it's not going to improve this wknd.
i've always felt that when there are still ?'s about the QB when the season starts, that it will be a bad, looong year. all that is supposed to be ironed out, and decided on, before the opener. how else is the offense supposed to get in a groove? if you doubt that, just look at arkansas EVERY year. nutt can't ever make a decision. and it's his job to do so.
ol charlie better start writing his resume. but hey, michigan might be interested.

IrishofNDMan 09-04-2007 01:59 PM

any Notre Dame fan knew Clausen was going to be the starter this weekend.

I think Clausen is overrated, but I guess we'll see...

I can see ND winning 4 games this season. The Irish will have Weis' head on a platter before it's all said and done.

I hope Weis is fired someday just for the fact that a ND coaching search is one of the most entertaining spectacles around. Secret meetings, trustees lobbying...and the best...being turned down by their first 6 choices each time...priceless

I wouldn't call a guy who played one quarter of college football, led his high school to 3 straight State Championships, never lost as a starter (42-0) overrated. I would wait to pass judgment.

He might be mildly retarded considering he turns 20 this month. I would hope he'd dominate in high school since he was playing against guys two years his junior.

2 of those wins will probably be against Navy and Air Force. These 2 schools belive in academics instead of athletics. Also they have a military commitment after school, so more than likely they don't get the athletes like most of the major colleges get.

Danzig 09-04-2007 05:44 PM

not all high schoolers make the leap to college, much like many college stars fall flat on their face when they go pro. remains to be seen what clausen can do, but seems a complete 180 from the supposed DEEP QB class they had just a year ago. this ought to be interesting. but then, a ready made excuse if/when clausen falters. the weight of a school on his shoulders. will he pull it off, or will he be this years version of mitch mustain?

Not defending ND but the teams that you mentioned are hardly under televised.

ND is an independent because they get to keep ALL of the TV money from NBC and bowl games instead of splitting it. You and I would do the same thing in that position.
