If everything stays as is and CQ goes into the derby, I'm sure you'll get somewhere in the 8-1 to 10-1 range.
Especially if you see big performances this weekend.

The reasons I like him is that he's never run a bad race (crossing a line through the Risen Star with the fallen jock in front of him) and he has shown a liking to Churchill Downs.
The 8-week layoff is a big concern for me, but knowing that he won't be running near the front or in the middle of the pack, getting bumped, jostled, and used hard early, I think he still has a legitimate shot, if healthy.

Interesting to see what his work pattern will be heading up to the derby.

In seeing this, and maybe someone will know specifically, I ask.

Why is CQ training over the Poly at Keeneland as opposed to going on to CD to work? And I wonder if the plan is for him to continue working on Keeneland's main, rather than CDs surface?

I said I do not second guess trainers, but this puzzles me.

I'm not sure, but I haven't seen any derby contenders training at Churchill as of yet. It could be simply logistical reasons for Pletcher, or more likely, they like training on polytrack.
CQ trained at Hollywood all winter long, so they probably want to stick with it.

The owner wants all his horses training on Poly. Biancone and Pletcher train all the Tabor horses at Hollywood Keeneland or Turfway..

Is it a myth or do trainers derby bound really not care for working at Churchill prior to the derby for some reason?

Thank you all for the replies.
