I was simply stating my opinion. But since we are so quick to throw out jabs, what exactly makes you the expert on the Alabama coaching situation? Does it all boil down to $$$? When you are talking 7 figures plus already does it really make that much difference? So was it really a better situation....hmmm let's see...Do I take a nice raise, uproot my family, leave a program that is already established and will be a top 5 pre-season team next year, potentially the Heisman Trophy winner next year, leave a community that absolutely loves me, walk into a high risk, no loyalty, middle of the road program at best, or do I stay get a nice raise because they want me to stay, have my facility upgraded because I can, have a shot at competing for a BCS game next year which would make 2 out of the last 3 years, make my ties to the community even stronger because I stayed loyal, and in a couple of years be regarded as one of the few coaches that can do whatever and wherever I want....sorry boys, I'm staying put....

God to see you,Sam! Folks..no matter what job you have..you still have to go back to the little lady at the end of the day. She didnt want to uproot the family...and,he having more sense than most...wisely chose to stay.;)

She wears the pants in that family and a guy like him wouldn't last 3 years at Bama.

agreeing that home and family are the number one priority doesn't indicate who wears what. after all, the legend known as joe paterno refused to leave a good thing. does that mean he couldnt' handle a coaching job elsewhere?

Whatever. The fact is he mentioned her numerous times in the press conference and quite frankly he should've had her take over the pc because he was stumbling over every word like he was passing along second-hand information.

Geez, I mean these SEC fans get a little hot under the collar I guess. I'm always amazed at the fierce passion they display when talking about their teams.
I don't think he needs 48 hours to chill, just lock him outta the sports bar threads and he will be fine Steve.

if you've not been to an SEC game, you NEED to! just pick out a good match up and that will help you understand.

my wife went to her first Bama game last year. Lsu came to Tuscaloosa and she was overwhilmed by the whole thing. she still talks about it and looks forward to goin again.

Alabama-Auburn can't be beat. Unbelievable atmosphere.

Samarta 12-09-2006 04:03 PM

Why do I get the feeling that we'll be watching Jack Bauer take down Tim and Oracle at some point in the new season of 24. I wonder what they will do with the other 23 hours.....:D

No doubt the SEC is the best football in the country. Fans go bonkers over it....
