Watching Alrington Feed. Is it Mandatory that those that sing at race tracks are grossly off key? That chick would get 3 quick X's on AGT.

Ugh, I think I got nipped there.

I had that one in the Sovereign contest. Great value on Castellano.

pointman 08-16-2014 02:51 PM

That really f****** stings, I guess I should not be shocked that Castellano out finishes Channing Hill. :wf:wf

Mth 7
$10 wp 8..looks like odds are plummeting

I'm with Pants. I wonder if these jocks even read the form anymore. Rosario is supposed to be one of the best in the country, but WTF was he doing on the 6 at AP. Breaks well and can settle in a good spot, but no he decides to wrangle her back and sit three wide no cover. I think he was too busy checking and steadying in the stretch to actually go to work. :zz:

Has this sport come to a point that we are wasting our time handicapping the horses and should just look for Value on Jockey's?

pointman 08-16-2014 02:54 PM

Mth 7

I think the 1 and 11 duel and there is other speed, looking for a shocker from the 6 who has some back races finishing and should get a good mid-pack trip.

$20W 6

I'll be honest. That was the main reason I put 7 on my doubles ticket. He has been hot.

Castellano is in a real zone right now, anything he rides is live.

That was a brutal beat, Jim. Castellano was the difference.

pointman 08-16-2014 02:58 PM

Ugh, the pain. I liked two bombs in the Mth 7th to come off the pace, the 6 and 10. I choose the 6. :wf:wf

jms62 08-16-2014 02:58 PM

Well looks like the Sovereign contest is over... Big prices in Legs 1 and 2 and all I get was a place

Kitan 08-16-2014 02:58 PM

Got the 10 at MTH in the contest...not redboarding because I didn't bet the race but f*** I get odds-capped

All too often, figure horses are getting overbet to produce a true lack of value which only gets exaggerated when the jockey reacts poorly.

Let me share an example : take a look at Grand Rapport (8-5 morning line) in the seventh race at Saratoga. Absolutely no speed, breaking from that rail, and the doubles into this horse seem to peg him at 2-5 or 3-5. Now, the horse has the figures to win this race both on the Beyer's and speed numbers.

But ...

Looking at his running style, this horse is screaming to get bottled up inside looking for space in the stretch - and there are several in here that look to have the exact same running style.

To me, this is bad value.
