"hey did you know you can buy hot food on your stamps now? pre made chicken and ribs"
"there's a store in town that will sell you beer and cigarettes on your food stamps now"
"this is all changed because of Obama.. he needs to stay in office, we need to vote for him. Whatever that other guys name is will try and take our food stamps and Obama gives it to us and expands it"

When I walk into a Bodega to get coffee and see folks ringing up $10 prepared specialty hero's and specialty pizza slices, single serve haagen-daz ice creams, red bulls, maybe a Starbucks canned cappuchino all on their "card". Step 2 is to pay cash for beers, smokes and lottery tix. Makes my head want to explode.

I get providing nutritionally sound staples to families that need that kind of help, but how we got to this current point is really beyond me...

not all of them, but i'm sure there are some. let's be realistic, not everyone on the dole is there because they are suffering a temporary setback.

Those two candidates are polar opposites on every social issue, and the major financial ones.

Libertarian is much closer, philosophically-speaking, to liberal than conservatives on social issues; on financial they are opposite.

I agree I wish there were strong third parties still around as decades ago.

??? No, nothing about what is received on food stamps was changed by Obama. Voters are ignorant.

That's why I no longer will vote for conservatives as I have my whole life. Their policies have failed. But that is why I am voting for progressivism.

"Stress" isn't a currently allowable condition for being placed on Social Security disability, nor Medicaid. Which "disability" are you talking about, specificially?

If you think it's "easy" to get approved for either one, you are mistaken.

As much as I care about equality and social issues... the financial issues are what is most important in this years election.

hell no.

I bit my tongue. Being most likely the only taxpayer there, it was not a battle I wanted to get involved in.

I just silently hoped they would be too lazy to vote.

Living in an area as poor as the one I live in, so many on stamps, you can tell who really really needs it and who is milking the system after talking to people.

I'm all about people, especially children, not starving when situations become dire. What I cant stand is people who choose to live off the system and not help themselves

Might not all laziness... some folks just want to take advantage of a system that is ripe for being taken advantage of.

I used to live in Ft Lauderdale in 2007... guess that is the last time I've updated my nerdy profile!

Yeah, ocala is certainly the most interesting (in a bad way) place I've ever resided.

Then you will love the New Mitt Romney tape released today. See new thread :D

Hey - everyone who gets mortgage and child deductions, to reduce your federal tax bill? You're a freeloading moocher.

On Social Security, Medicare, Medicaid? You're a freeloading moocher.

Pay social security tax, medicare tax, state taxes, local taxes, sales taxes - but make so little money you don't have to pay federal income tax? You're a freeloading moocher!

Whats crazy is, as much as I cant stand welfare abusers (not the ones who really need it or kids really need it)... the super Rich and the Federal Government are the biggest freeloading muthafucl<a's our country has.

How much money has Bush and Obama spent bailing out and stimulating the rich?

hypocrite freeloaders who think they are "better" than the rest of us.

yep, get their cake and eat it too. got the govt (thanks congress, thanks bill c.) to remove the wall separating banking from investing, and went hog wild. and then we pay for the bailout, while the bankers and financiers get bonuses-and the other workers get laid off.
it's the american way.

What, you think those poor oil companies don't need billions and billions in tax breaks?

That Michelle Bachmann, who gets government farm handouts, is living unfairly off the government teat?

That Paul Ryan, who has spent 100% of his adult life as a government employee, with a government health care plan, and government pension, can't recognize a freeloading moocher when he sees you?

:D
