In a very fitting way to end the summer, Medaglia D'amour got run down late in the Palomar in what had to have been my 50th second of the summer. Nothing else connected and left a damper on what was a pretty good closing weekend after Sunday.

Obviously I wasn't happy with the way things unfolded this summer and if it wasn't for some races on the Del Mar turf it would have been even worse. The game seems to be getting tougher and this meet at Saratoga left me extremely humbled. No excuses. There were some big prices for the taking but I just couldn't find them. Congrats to anyone that did. I will say that I did a little better than I showed here because of some exotic hits, however I still finished the meet in the red.

Taking a much needed break for awhile to do some soul searching. The game as it currently stands isn't the one I fell in love with. Maybe I just need to adjust with it. We'll see. As I said to Steve earlier in the week, I'll always love horse racing. I just don't like it much right now.
