I was in the car yesterday and the radio was on 126, not sure who was on TVG, but they were talking about Zenyatta losing the foal and claimed that Moss will have to shell out another $75K to have her bred to Bernardini again. I am no expert, but these people are supposed to be, as far as I know a stud fee is paid only when a foal is born alive. These guys should know better!

Northern Dancer had no guarantee... but not Bernardini.

I couple of years ago before the Hollywood Gold Cup, the connections of Heatseeker (who I believe was going to be one of the favorites) announced on either Thursday or Friday that he was going to scratch from the race (if I remeber correctly it was injry related). That Friday night at Hollywood Schrupp went on about what a good chance that Heatseeker had to win the race. The whole kicker of thing is that they were on site at Hollywood Park and the guy still had absolutely no clue about what was going on with the horse. I thought that summed it all up right there about how clueless some of these guys are.

I can't get TVG in Manhattan, so I only hear the feed on the radio, but I hope Schrupp is one of those that gets canned. I find that he is unberable and seems to know very little about horse racing. I agree with those who blame the producers as well, enough of the schtick, they really need to have people who know the sport and can actually handicap and educate the audience. On occasion when I leave work I hear Michelle Yu and hearing her talking about harness races as if she has any clue is an absolute joke.

If you had heard the segment, I am sure you would have been falling over in laughter. One of the idiots was going on saying "it is not like Bernardini is just going to do the work for free." Not sure how they can claim to cover horseracing with people who often don't even know the basics.

The Confidential: Is TVG intentionally boycotting certain tracks?

blackthroatedwind 03-31-2011 12:10 PM

And people thought Alan's postings were bad.

randallscott35 03-31-2011 12:12 PM

Is that strange blog post suggesting that TVG is going under? Or harness tracks b/c they don't show that shitty coverage.

Coach Pants 03-31-2011 12:15 PM

Gobbi? More like Gabby. Ba-ba-ba-ba you dumb ass. You completely ignore the fact that TVG has been like this every winter since at least 2006. God you suck and you're actually trying. Just stop trying, dude.

Absolutely correct.................when Schrupp works with folks other than Bray he is tolerable (barely) but lately anytime he is with Bray the two of them are complete idiots. HRTV gets it, HORSE RACING people watch the show...............they try to have SOME intelligent conversation. TVG is working towards being broadcast from a basement in Aurora, IL and being sponsored by Stan Mikita's doughnuts. (except without the humor)

Alan07 03-31-2011 01:11 PM

Just look at the programming right now. They can show Chester and Freehold right now - but they won't.

Ken Rudolph was the culprit. I almost ran off the road when I heard them talking about it. Carruthers was in studio with him and didn't say a word.
