I thought it was funny that Moss became the best reciever ever because he made a great catch against an injured player. He had TWO catches all game.

Something tells me Jerry Rice would have performed a bit better today.

Coach Pants 09-19-2010 09:20 PM

RHT set the second half line.

You called this earlier in the week. It was a great call.

More like best ever.

I can't think of many thread topics that are better than an a.sshole talking smack before the outcome of the game and it progressing to the point that he mushes his favorite team and in the process acts like a battered woman and offers no apologies for his asinine behavior.

:tro: You forgot confusion due to poor reading comprehension but otherwise this sums up every RHT visit to a sports thread.

How come they couldn't stop anything the horrible Jets offense did? Will the Pats ever have a running game again? I need answers you sweaty loudmouth.

:tro::tro:

Have to say, other than the Jets kicking the Pats ass, this is one of the worst threads in the history of Nerdy Trail.

Happy to see Sanchize and my man Ryan do well.

Will admit though, watching Sports Center on thursday when Revis said he didnt practice and that his hammy was still bothering him a little but that he'd be fine on Sunday I thought, if they let Revis play his hammy will get injured worse on Sunday. Two things you dont mess with are pulled hammy's or groins, you cant play with them, they usually always get worse.

I hope he's okay, but those things are annoying.

Now where did I put my athletic trainers liscense?

winning in minnesota as a dog will relax the dolphins a bit , they won't be flying around as much at 2-0 then if they were 1-1 , it's just human nature

they might win the game , they might just be that much better than the jets an can overcome a less than max effort , but ,they laid it all out on the field yesterday in minnesota , it will be tough for them to replicate that effort

Disagree. All that win yesterday will do is make them hungrier.

Home opener against the Jets, they will be flying. Whether they win the game remains to be seen.

matt ask any pro is in vegas , the 1st games they look at are those where a team has won outright as an underdog on the road and now is coming home and is a favorite.

it's one of the best gauges for picking on a team that won't give a max effort the following week, the dolphins needed every ounce of energy yesterday to win that game from start to finish , they are on a monumental high , they might be able to beat the jets just on talent alone, but matching the max effort from the viking game is almost impossible.

Didn't see the Fins game yesterday, so not sure of the energy spent. But at this point I'm starting to believe that the Vikings just aren't that good.
I understand the theory that you are preaching, but I would buy into it more if they were playing a non conference/divisonal team next week. The fact that it's the hated Jets who they always get up for no matter how good or bad they are, makes me think your theory goes out the window in this case.

Where's the Vikes-Lions game next week? I'd give the Lions an even shot based on what I've seen of both teams so far. Then again, the Lions haven't won at Minnesota since 1997.

Favre is starting to look and play like he's 41.

it's not a matter of how good/bad the vikings will be

the vikings were a favorite yesterday , they played NO in week 1 and played a pretty good game , they have issues on offense no question, but, the dolphins were a dog on the road in a place where the home team wins a high % of their games

as a jet fan , i'm much happier to see the dolphins win yesterday than lose

they are coming home off of two wins on the road , two covers as well .....unless the team they are playing next is a hopless trainwreck , which the jets are not , you are supposed to bet against the dolphins

is it 100 % full proof , of course not , but , it does win more times than it losses

hoovesupsideyourhead 09-20-2010 10:00 AM

bret needs to go..hes become very predictable..

slotdirt 09-20-2010 10:03 AM

My favorite play Favre made yesterday was the classic gun slinger chuck the ball as far as he can into double coverage, except now his chuck the ball as far as he can is about 10 yards shorter and easily interceptable.

Congrats jets fans you won! Pats d sucked 2nd half!

Congrats you won jets! Pats d sucked 2nd half it was like they were sleep walking on both sides. However, like us your 1-1 and you needed this game more than we did and played like it the 2nd half. Now all this moss trashing are you kidding me! He beat reavis and makes a one handed catch and all you talk about is revis hamstring. He didn't pull up to the end of the play! Brady is the one to blame for the 2 ints not moss. The d looked horrible pass and run d both sucked 2nd half. Well enjoy and don't take the fish lightly they are 2-0 for a reason and they will be ready! The good news for the pats we get buffalo at home! The bad news for the jets is the injuries keep piling up!

Didn't Randy Moss tip the ball up (granted trying to make a play) that cause one of the interceptions? Also Moss did seem to disappear after Revis left with his injury.
Personally I don't think it was just Brady, the Jets brought their game up to the level where it's been expected and they just pretty much dominated the Pats from there on in.

nebrady 09-20-2010 10:31 AM

So what! Moss shouldn't try to catch the ball!

Are you kidding me I give you props and you blame moss for tipping a ball that got intercepted! Yeah your team kicked us the second half congrats! But at what cost revis, mangold, taylor and brad smith your best special teams player hurt. Moss isn't to blame brady at one time had straight 6 incompletions which is a record for him! The first interception was horrible and the second was a tipped ball. Besides the key receiver to me is welker not moss. You beat us up congrats now go to miami and back it up! ;)
