Really, by their rule of thumb, you gotta put all your nuts in the right basket.

Not so sure I can help. But if I can, let me know, I'm willing to try.

From two who are in the receiving zone in income from the govt as opposed to giving, I would expect nothing less. I suppose a little revisionist history would support all the anti-gay and anti-black posts made by Jim and I, known racists and gay bashers. People are unhappy with the role of govts intrusion into their pocketbooks and that automatically makes us all anti everything that you stand for? (though I dont remember either of you having much tone when I last saw you)

No that is seemingly a requirement for a post in the Obama administration. It would be illogical to protest paying more taxes if you didnt pay them in the first place.

I'm not trying to start something, but it seems that conservative's like to be told over and over how wrong Democrats are and how "right" they are. Liberals are just as sure as Conservatives that they are correct, but I don't know anyone who listens to Liberal radio ( is there any?)...I guess watching CNN counts, but I just have no desire to be lectured...even by Keith Olberman or anyone Liberal. In a country pretty much split down the middle politically, why then are conservative columinists, radio hosts and TV guys that hugely outnumber anything Liberal? Because the right listens to that stuff and the left doesn't...maybe it's a personality thing? And I answered your question with a question:confused:

And I think Bill Maher is brilliant and hilarious, but I still won't make time for that.

What side of the fence would you considere NPR to be on? I've seen both sides claim their programming to be one or the other. Widipedia has some brief studies on NPRs listeners and reporting:
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/National_Public_Radio

I've always found that people love or hate NPR.

Newsweek has the lefts back for sure.

Seriously? I can't listen to any talk radio..sports, NPR, Rush..anything for more than 30 seconds. I just don't laugh at their jokes or want to hear them pontificate. Would rather read it all.

But..to answer your question...I would think NPR is fairly unbiased, but reports on more issues that tend to fall in the Left camp vs the right. But that's totally IMO..

Two pieces here. Nobody was talking about you and Jim being anti-gay or racist. The point is that the somewhat reasonable (if silly way of showing it) anti-spending concept of the "tea parties" got hijacked by other groups who really have nothing to do with taxes or spending, but are just haters. This doesn't take revisionist history....just simply paying attention to the lead-up to Wednesday.

And can you explain again how I'm in the "receiving zone" from the government, instead of the giving side? Still struggling to figure out where my handout is in all of this. I'd hate to burst the idea that all liberals are welfare queens stealing money from your wallet....but I'm just a little confused.

I'm happy that all the tea-baggers are going to return the Obama income tax cuts that they are seeing in their weekly paychecks starting what, two weeks ago?

I read an interesting article about Limbaugh and his radio show the other day - seems his radio show is given away free to stations in exchange for advertising. That's why you especially hear him whenever you are in smaller markets (rural Oklahoma, for example) - and he's the only thing you can pick up - and you hear repeated ads for Gold Bond powder <g> The smaller markets get free programming for a few hours a week, it keeps them solvent.

The CNN reporter should be fired for that 'performance'. In theory she is supposed to be a professional, yet people want to focus on the guys answer. If the guy had challenged her maybe a retort would be appropriate. But she simply wanted to editorialize instead of report. This is the crux of the problem with most of the mainstream media, the interjection of their own political view into "reporting". That woman was looking for a chance to voice her displeasure with the proceedings. She is a not only a biased shill, she is very bad at her job.

As for the protesters yesterday versus the traditional anti american (oops) war or anti something else left wing protesters is that most of the people yesterday were regular people with real jobs as opposed to the usual professional protesters or 'artistic' people who are so intellectually superior that they prefer socialism.
I'm not sure why Brian believed that that was a win for democrats but your boys ratings are falling every day. Guess that makes me anti-black?

they were? i would have considered protesting but i was working, as was everybody else in my office, i haven't seen any pictures but i kind of assumed it would be a cross section of a college campus and an art gallery.

i lean liberal on a lot of things but taxes and government spending are not one of them. the rate of taxation in this country approaches that of socialistic countries without the benefits such as governmental health care and reasonably priced higher education. it isn't just dems or repubs being fiscally irresponsible... it's everyone, to the point that i consider them criminal for stealing from the American public.

Like Brian said, I'm unclear as to where my government gravy train is. If it came by I surely missed it.

And the last time I saw you was 2007, way before you became DT's 10,000-post voice of the wacko right. I looked for you at Saratoga every time I was there but only found your dad (who I like, by the way). Even if I did see you, the last thing I want to do at the track is spar about politics with a rigid right-wing ideologue. That's time that could be spent losing money.

joey - i think what chuck is trying to say is that you and brian are in the 50% of the population that now pays no federal income tax , i might be reading it wrong and he may have to claify it later

10% of the people are now paying 72% of all federal income taxes

50% pay zero to the federal gov't

lol, wtf?

i'm paying way more than zero to the federal government. maybe not as much as Chuck, but I'm sure paying my share for the money I make.

people with more money pay more taxes, not sure we're covering Income Tax 101 again here, but I'm certainly not one getting handouts and tax-free income...believe it or not, I do have a relatively legitimate day job.

again only trying to put 2 + 2 together , don't know your situation and i can only speculate what chuck thinks you do for a living, i gave an opinion on what he might be thinking based on his post

Fair enough. Still trying to make sense of his comment about J and me getting handouts, too.
