but that's what they need to do-cut spending. if you don't want to increase taxes (but they will increase-the tax cuts that expire next year, as well as the plan to get rid of the advanced earned income credit mean increases in '10, but certainly far less of an increase than what's needed to cut the gap completely) but want to balance your budget, what else do you do? what else is there?

ANd the above pretty much illustrates major diff. between economists
as well. Nobody knows for sure what and will not work in situations
like we are in now. We look back for examples that are similar our current
situation.... we find the great depression in the 30's, and a number of others.
But today is still unique. The interconnected nature of the World's economy
is quite novel compared to the past (30's included). Many countries
with all degrees of free market models are suffering.

What is clear is no one knows for sure what needs to be done.
YOu have people who say do nothing. You have people saying
we are not spending enough. You have people saying there is
some happy medium(that is of course never found because this
has now become the refuge of so many politicians, they all have
their own unique medium) This stimulus/spending... prochoice/prolife
blah blah blah (choose a name that makes it feel rightfor you) is another example of big bogus conflicts because there is
clearly NOT a right answer. After the fact there will be many
I told you so's.

WE are in an experimentation mode.

Of course you meant to say the Obama Depression. You might have noticed -- we have a new president now that the press can't get enough of. He gets all of it -- the glory, and the blame.

Well, hold him to it. So far, he has done what he said he would do. Our military seems pretty useless at catching the guy we went to Afghanistan to get. We have to stop setting up house in these s-h-i-t-hole Muslim Countries. There's always a cultural/ religious situation that can't be fixed. We can't nation build in an area of the world that doesn't want Democracy. If you have a definite goal to accomplish, then do it. This setting up house bullsht is not solving anything. We need to put our money into keeping this scum out of the U.S. The toughest thing this guy promised to do is to recognize the Armenian Genocide. That may be the promise he can't keep. You see how almost all those Turks survived that jet crash? Un huh....Hard-headed folks. Any amount of pressure they can put on this guy will be used. These are opportunistic people in a very important tactical location(that's how they can be so good at making sure there never is a good time to get this done.)

Tough for cons to deal with the fact that their guy, Capt. Bush, drove the bandwagon straight into the Grand Canyon.
