If there is a reason to think St Liam's performance wasn't as good as it seemed, it would be because he was leaning on GZ for most of the stretch. Personally, I don't buy that. It was an outstanding performance by 2 superb horses. If I remember correctly, they both earned 114 BSF's that day. But with the wide turn they ran, the adjusted fig was probably as good as GZ's 120's in other races.

Ghostzapper was out further than St. Liam in the Woodward who kept pushing him outward and veering into him. St. Liam wasn't even in the same league as GZ. No horse in recent memory was. The BSF's were about right because while they went incredibly fast early, they staggered home. I don't believe that St. Liam was anywhere near as good as RIM either, although he did beat him in the Donn after RIM returned from Dubai. I don't mean to knock St. Liam because he was a very, very good horse. He just wasn't nearly as good as GZ. Then again, not many horses are.

The Donn was before Dubai...

St. Liam would always veer out in the stretch, they got him under control by the BC last year.
