It's tough to do that with so much static against the thought. You had it right Phil which is why I couldn't believe the "obvious toss" crescendo that built through the night. Obviously we are responsible for our own wagers but a loud forceful negative opinion with reason or not does influence people.

That was quite possibly the worst 8th race in NYRA history. Oof.

Who the hell said he was an 'obvious toss' other than you? You put it in quotes as if someone said it.

Brutal. Wonder why the switched the nominal "feature" to the 7th?

Double carry...

If you have time, you really should look at the HEADON stretch run of Tee With the Tiger's last race.

Exactly. The point at least I was making was that I thought he would be overbet and it was a tricky race. As it turned out, the 1 and 11 crushed the field, and I was wrong, but even though I would never have bet Dr. Decter I would never have left him out of a real Pick-6 play.

In fact, if I made a $2K play he would have been one of the two winners on my ticket! I think my only decent opinion was that it was probably going to carry again....though I have no idea how the last winner paid $18.

I remember him well from betting him in his Spa debut at 8-1, a questionable ride and inexperience were the only things that kept him from winning that race, saying that I can understand people not being on him at 8/5. Still I would never call him a bet against.

What was questionable about the ride? He broke slowly and moved up into perfect position. What exactly should the rider have done differently?

ateamstupid 09-10-2008 05:36 PM

I'm pretty sure he wasn't 8-1 in his debut either.

He was.

It's official....after today I really don't like Channing Hill.

I saw it a little differently, I thought Coa moved a little early on the horse. Perhaps if the horse was much the best it would have been not mattered. But he probably is just an "ok" type.

I almost fell out of my chair when I saw that.

Realizing it was probably going to double carry and a real play wasn't worth it was about my only good opinion as well (although I was fairly pleased with myself for basically only going 2 deep in the first leg, which looked tricky)
