If so, then the MLS is equivalent to NFL Europe....

...or if you're into other sports, MLS = your local softball beer league...or MLS = The Swiss Pro Basketball League...or MLS = your local club championship in golf.....or MLS = The Jamaican Bobsled Team...

I am a huge soccer fan and haven't watched more than 15 minutes of an MLS game. It is unwatchable.

ALL the speed is from posts 17-20 with the lone exception of Bob Black Jack.

Recapture 18, Gayego 19

It is going to be one bizarre looking break from the starting gate.

philcski 04-30-2008 04:58 PM

Dutrow is (a) a genius for knowing the break won't be as rough with only someone to his left or (b) he thinks he has the greatest horse since Secretariat (c) a sick f*ck who knows he'll get a point more odds with that post!!!

Pretty sure the answer is c

i guess it doesn't matter that much, he had a high draw anyway and he has the speed, so might as well increase your chance of a clean break by taking the outside.

Yeah, but symbolically, it's a ballsy move. He said post position wouldn't matter, so he takes what many believe to be the most difficult post.

Why not take the 2 with the complete lack of early speed from the horses in 3 and 4?

I agree with that statement, he has such a big long stride and bad feet, you'd hate to get stepped on or blocked in the early going, but damn 20 is wide...

slotdirt 04-30-2008 05:06 PM

Especially when the inside was available. You know the three horses immediately to his left are going to gun, why even take the chance?
