You're both lucky Thebby sissy darted that one.

Mortimer 04-12-2008 06:43 PM

He is a way back. But the field definitely fell off.
So like you alluded to, some of the guys in between fell off.
But a few who were the supposed "winners", the stayers, like Mickelson
got hacked out. So fewer people have to have mediocre last rounds.
And Tiger pulls a big game day...

Bigs,
don't want to speak for Kev but usually the player can choose who he wants to play with. A lot of times it is a low handicapped member or local player, usga official or a club pro from the area. It could even be a family member ect...... They just have to be a descent player so they don't kill anyone in the crowd or hold up the groups behind them.

If they end up with a odd number of players, they generally give the single player going off first alone in the morning the option of having a marker play along with them. The marker is usually one of the better players that is a member at Augusta. Its a pace of play thing more than anything else. Some players opt to play alone and get done fairly quickly...others prefer to have someone along with them to help pace themselves.

Thanks guys.

I seem to remember John Daly flying around by himself in about 2 hrs and 15 minutes a few years back.

Just think of the situation being similar to you, Marty and Lori being kind enough to drag my ass around for 5 hours last year:D

are fluffers commonly used in golf?

SniperSB23 04-13-2008 12:50 PM

Does Tiger still have the streak going where he's never won while off the lead going into the final round and never lost while on the lead going into the final round?

Glad somebody caught that.

Figured the golf world had a different name for it....apparently "marker" is the word according to the resident pro.

In majors yes. All THIRTEEN of his majors have been won when he was tied for the lead or in the lead alone after 54 holes.

GPK 04-13-2008 02:12 PM

still alot of holes left...but Tiger is done.

Unless he finds some magic...

Needs to shoot 6-7 under from here on out to have a chance. If he can get some momentum going and get the crowd roaring, maybe the guys behind him may start to think a little bit more than they should. But I just don't see it happening.

Mortimer 04-13-2008 03:04 PM

Whack..Whack...Whack.....

...ain't much to this game.
