tHANKS... I had Moyer pond ATB too, but once I seen Delighful Kiss move to the front, I didnt want MP to catch him...Hang on for second but not catch him...

westcoastinvader 06-02-2007 04:53 PM

I tossed Cowtown and Rocket, but needed Forty Grams in the top 3.

I never agreed with that assessment! You and I liked this horse since the Tampa Bay Derby.

I'll be kicking myself for a few hours about screwing up on the post time, however

It might have been talked about around here earlier, but the guy who trained Delightful Kiss was the guy who rode the 1964 Ohio Derby winner.

National, ridden by Pete Anderson, and owned by Eddie DeBartolo.

Kasept 06-02-2007 05:00 PM

..and better known for riding Kelso.

Thanks Kasept. Kelso I did not know. I did catch on the Thistledown news today that Delightful Kris's trainer (Pete Anderson) had ridden Forego.

The story today was that just before the 1964 Ohio Derby, the eventual winner's owner.....Eddie DeBartolo....told Pete Anderson he had made a wager on the horse to win.

Turns out it was $10,000 in 1964 dollars.

Eddie DeBartolo was the SOB who bought and closed my childhood track, Ascot Park . That's why it's always been easy for me to hate the San Francisco 49er's!

I said that before he bombed in the Arkansas Derby. Surely you realize assessments are on a race by race basis. I used him today, but with Officer Rocker...who can't run a step, as obviously I pitched the worst 3:5 shot in history. Think about it.....Cowtown Rat was a shorter price than Fabulous Strike.

Thanks Kasept/P Pants and all . . .I need to thank Byalip for Moyer's Pond suggestion; was key! Steve, sure love DT; I've lurked and learned now since March - loads of fun being on here! I just retired from 30 yrs of teaching yesterday, so I have now have plenty of time to check out the threads daily! And also, am thinking about hitting 'Toga this summer - would love to meet up with all the DT'ers!

I see my handicapping sucks, BUT my gut was right. One out of two ain't bad. :)

Congrats to those that hit!
