She is pretty well put together, Her conformation looks good,
she is pretty alert and very inquisitive about her surroundings.
She looks small next to mom because mom is about 17.2 hands.
This was her first foal. The mom is by Partner's Hero and she is
booked to Domestic Dispute this year. I will post some pix in
the foal pix thread soon.

Awesome! Thanks... love seeing the new foals.

17.2 is huge for a thoroughbred mare, too!

I won't throw out a number, but he's smaller than all the other stallions there.

since we were talking about Sadler's Wells, does anyone know what happen to Alexandrova?

By looking at his picture, he appears to be around 15.1 or 15.2 (which is rather small), but it seems like a lot of mares are bigger nowadays, so if you bred a 16.1 or 16.2 hand mare to him, you'd probably be ok. Plus, (I would think) that perhaps his size wouldn't be carried down anyway, unless there was history of that in his pedigree. How big is Forestry? He's under 16 hands, right?

Same but 3 to 4 years is a long time to wait in this job;)

He was probably the greatest sire that never had (a chance to have) a great career on track.

Ever heard of Alibhai? Unraced? Top sire, chef-de-race? Didn't have the numbers that sires do these days, but if you looked at percentages, he'd be in the running for this title.

Why did Hancock (if he controlled his breeding rights) write off Sunday Silence so soon and sell him to Japanese interests?

Arthur Hancock of Stone Farm got caught in the burst of the bloodstock bubble in 1986/7, when the tax-laws changed. He had to sell Sunday Silence to save the farm, quite literally. He could not interest anybody in Kentucky in buying or syndicating Sunday Silence; lord knowns he tried. Only the Japanese wanted him.
