way off....said 27-13 Ravens and was only 24-10. the long snapper was effective though which is all that matters.

clyde 12-04-2011 06:14 PM

Boy it sounded like it.

Had it on the radio and it was awful listening. It's pitiful how after about 10 years the team is still an expansion team. You would think by mistake, they would be better.

But no.

Very close though.

Yes ....we snap long good , again.

horseofcourse 12-04-2011 08:35 PM

My prediction gotta come fast this week, we play thursday...no rest for the horrible. I see 31-9 Steelers for some reason. 66 games for the Cavs this year....I say massive improvement from last season 18-48.

clyde 12-04-2011 09:25 PM

10-4

An acknowledgment.

Not the score.

horseofcourse 12-05-2011 08:24 AM

I'm still trying to figure out the Vulverines getting a BCS Bowl over Michigan State. I'm pretty sure in regular season Mich State went 7-1 in big 10 play...the best... and made the championship game and blew out the Vulverines badly. Played Wisconsin twice dead even both games and split with them. I guess it's just the NCAA created BCS trying to show how awesome they are. Is it true Urban Meyer is going to be on the sideline for the OSU bowl game?? That would be awful. ( I guess he isn't, that is good.)

horseofcourse 12-05-2011 08:44 AM

I vowed not to talk about my alma mater ever again but I couldn't pass up more NCAA bowl hypocricy. I always love how the NCAA talks about "student athletes" in their official statements which is pretty comical. For all the alleged "evil" of Joe Paterno, his graduation rates are much closer to what they should be than most D 1 schools. But Penn State did beat Iowa, Ohio State, and Northwestern this year...all 3 and all 3 of those schools get to go to better bowl games. how are the current "student athletes" at Penn State involved with the situation currently on-going?? Penn State was 6-2 in conference and 3 schools .500 or worse in conference that they all beat get better "student athlete" rewards than the Penn State "student athletes".

If there was ever an entity that needed vaporization, it is the NCAA I think.

I think it's "aa speak".

If a team had a lesser season than another,it may be deemed to be the best team if aa says as much.

Like...they can sell player trading cards and jerseys with players names because they "own" these items and they make millions on them.Since they own the rights, players get no cut.But let those players sell something they own, that their university gave to them, for $100 or a tat......and oh boy!!

$$$$OOOOOOOOOO$$$$

horseofcourse 12-06-2011 01:30 PM

Wow, more great incredibleness from the NCAA. Traditional eastern powers San Diego State and Boise State have joined the Big East football conference. Doesn't that mean west coast power University of Maine needs to join the Pac 12?

clyde 12-06-2011 02:24 PM

Well of course it does.

But believe me, the Big Infinity will dodge Mount Union.

The Purple Raiders would destroy that league.

clyde 12-08-2011 01:44 PM

This was overheard right at the end of yesterday's Browns practice:

Coach Mr.Rogers...OK guys, don't forget we leave for Pittsburgh for our game there tomorrow night.

Browns Players......

game!!?....what game!!?

whatthefucl<areyoutalkingabout!!??

clyde 12-08-2011 07:35 PM

Oh my God.

thud

clyde 12-08-2011 07:38 PM

Never mind.

clyde 12-08-2011 07:39 PM

Mr. Rogers...what a doorknob.

horseofcourse 12-09-2011 08:23 AM

It was only my second viewing of a Brownie game this year...well I saw most of the second half. my initial thought when Colt got whacked and Wallace came in and threw that pass to Moore down to the 5 yard line was"they might win this game!" When they re-inserted Colt my initial thought was..."they can't win this game" HE's no good and most of his good passes get dropped too. It's a very bad combo. They have a simply heinous offense. They crippled the rapist at least so there was that. In the two games I've seen--I've seen a total of zero Brownie touchdowns. I guess a one-legged rapist is better than a two legged Colt...most colts actually need 4 legs to be effective I guess.

Then I realized my delerium and remembered that it was the Browns and even if they left Wallace in to finish off the TD it only means a 14-10 loss instead of 14-3 loss. It's the Brownies and to think they ever had a remote chance to win that game was crazy. Of their final 4 against the Squealers and Rat Birds I wanted 1 win total, I think last night was the 1, and it is no longer. It's gonna be zero.

clyde 12-09-2011 08:35 AM

It was awful. From the decision for this 4-8 not- as- good -as -their- record- says team to take a FG on that opening drive aborted my digestive process; and to that last mess at the Steeler 18.Didn't listen to the 2nd half, but just read about it.

Mr. Rogers may be the biggest problem.

This is the North Coast.

And we are sick of field goals.

We're sick of the head scratching play calls even more.Elmer Fudd could do better.

cmorioles 12-09-2011 08:36 AM

I'd love to know why when a team is down 14-3 with 2 minutes left they are throwing five yard passes. Throw the ball down the field. Why not actually try to catch up?

You haven't been watching this team...those 5 yard passes ARE down field!!

horseofcourse 12-09-2011 08:48 AM

IT's a shame as they really could have lost all of their wins except the Colts, so they could be 1-12 and be getting that Griffin from Baylor. He's the guy I want now. Luck won't be there. He seems to throw a great deep ball and is very fast. But then, if we got him Mr Rodgers would have him throwing 3 yard crossing routes to a slow wideout with bad hands. (as you said those are our deep balls!!)

!!

We'd throw the 12 yarders, but as you said...our receivers aren't fast enough to get open deep.

Catching the ball has nothing to do with it.

horseofcourse 12-09-2011 08:56 AM

This big to do about the Angels and Marlins, I think everyone missed the Tribe signing Tom Pagnozzi.

horseofcourse 12-09-2011 08:58 AM

OH wait I got that mixed up...Tom Pagnozzi is a washed up retired backup catcher, they signed his nephew a backup catcher who is also likely washed up!!

clyde 12-09-2011 10:03 AM

I wish you wouldn't do that---ya had me excited there for a minute.

horseofcourse 12-09-2011 03:09 PM

I always get in bad trouble on other threads!! Browns put Colt back in game with concussion. It appeared obvious at the time, oh well. I think Mr Rodgers has some issues.

horseofcourse 12-09-2011 03:23 PM

Garko's coming back this year.

:tro::tro::tro:

...no, I just made that up! I wonder if obaldo's healthy?

horseofcourse 12-09-2011 04:37 PM

HIllis....10 carries 25 yards
Hardesty....11 carries 24 yards
Ogbonnaya...2 carries 31 yards

Now that the hilarious H's are back--the carry distribution looks to be to Mr Rodgers' satisfaction I'd say!! It's gonna be real effective.

horseofcourse 12-09-2011 04:55 PM

back 1...101 carries, 346 yards 3.4 yards per carry
back 2....86 carries, 268 yards 3.1 yards per carry
back 3....73 carries, 334 yards 4.6 yards per carry

It's clear the guy with the least carries is proper choice by coaches.

I think Mr. Rogers is the one needing his head examined.

horseofcourse 12-10-2011 10:05 AM

What are we gonna do Sunday night and Monday this week with all the making fun of Mr Rodgers completed by Friday?? I feel like a timely efficiency expert now. I must say, I think they should do this starting NBA in late December 60 game schedule thing all the time...can sustain focus on the two stenches of football and basketball and have no overlap, and with no playoffs, very little overlap with baseball. The efficiency theme is 3 sports wide in Cleveland this year.

horseofcourse 12-10-2011 10:09 AM

I read Sizeless suffered a minor MCL tear taking a dump yesterday.

(wha'ts funny is you have to think for a second if this just might be true!)

Well, at least losing consecutively beats losing concurrently...I guess.

Before you came back and added the parenthetical....I had to wonder.Did you know they are going to give Brantley 1st base time this spring? They are. Does it make the slightest bit of sense? So you can see why I had to think about the truth of your comment.

I guess I was silly to think they'd just stick their best or 2nd best offensive player there and be done with it. I guess they enjoy the worst defensive catcher in baseball and decided he'd fit best there. Weird. That's weird about Brantley, he's the last guy I'd stick at first base. If there is one thing I am sure about on that team it is making Santana a full time first baseman and being done with it. They're prepping us for an oncoming disaster I think.

clyde 12-10-2011 06:39 PM

I can't believe it either.

Nothing like negating speed. The Indians have a knack for turning gold into Euros.

Really love Santana behind the plate.

I know the opposing teams do too.

What, make Santana full time 1st base and lose all that offense and magic glove provided by LaStarboarda??

What's wrong with you?

:D

horseofcourse 12-10-2011 07:56 PM

Mount Union improved to 167-6 overall since 2000. Since 1990, the Purple Raiders are 163-1 when winning the turnover margin. Playing for another championship this year. winner of Wisconsin Whitewater/St Thomas game.

horseofcourse 12-10-2011 07:59 PM

Whitewater shut them out...7th straight year these two play for it all. This is the rubber match. How close are Mount Union and WIsconsin Whitewater?? total points in the 6 straight championship games...Mount Union 171, Wisconsin Whitewater 170.

clyde 12-10-2011 11:13 PM

Wow.

Amazing.

What joy t would bring me to beat Swissconsin twice this year in fb.Quite a remarkable record, though. You know these guys wash their own uniforms? I don't think they get sports scholarships either, although I am not positive.

I know you won't believe this, but that Larry Kehres..the MU coach. He was a Southeast Pirate and I was a Crestwood Red Devil...played against him.He was a qb then.

geaux purpley raidahs!!!!

That's pretty cool. My famous athletic encounter was playing junior high basketball against Chris Spielman. Unfortunately I was unable to progress beyond freshman ball and had no more professional encounters. No athletic scholarships in Div 3....Mount is pretty high caliber...Pierre Garcon did make the big time though, the indy wideout.
