My Nittany Lions are somehow 8-1 with not one but two bad quarterbacks. It's beyond amazing...only losing to a God's conference team called Alabama. I credit the scheduling!! 8-4 may be in the cards though...now play Hornpuskers, then go to Buckeye land, and Badger land. No more Iotas or Hoosiers on the schedule. Meat Chicken isn't on our schedule. I love it...Joe's now like your senile great-grandpa, he's gone beyond grandpa stage!

joe going from grandpa to great grandpa 5 years ago in buckeye land...

...his 62nd year has been pretty fun!!

Ordinarily I would not allow enemy sporty news here, but since you are a sr. writer for this fine thread----why,I'll allow it.

Did not look at the link as I have a very weak stomach.

State Penn is an interesting team in that the defense seems super duper and the offense.... not sa hot.I'd rather have it that way than the reverse. If they win the rest of their games, then they're in that title game.It seems anyone can beat anyone in the BI this year.Really.Plus I think State Penn is the only team that controls their fate.

you have to realize I am a Penn State alumni, so I plead the 5th! I still pull for the buckeyes but only if my boys are in death mode first! With us in control of the division I'm pulling for a spanking of the Buckeyes for sure this year. I love Joe too. He was in Canton recruiting a player at my Dad's school during basketball season and talked to my parents and told them he would take me anything they wanted when he got back to State College. My parents stupidly said no...they didn't realize I would have become a dormitory legend if Joe Pa came up to deliver me something!!

clyde 11-02-2011 08:55 PM

That is a pretty good story...why did they say no?

Anyways, we'll see what happens.Ohio State is very talented on both sides of the ball, but very young and young teams can regress.Just a very unpredictable year, week to week in this conference.

The only sure thing is the Vulvarenes losing to Ohio State.

I really enjoyed saying the above.

I'm thinking they weren't thinking Paterno was gonna show up at a silly high school basketball game and I really didn't need anything most likely! Kid he was recruiting ended up going to Minnesota and not being very good! fickell was placed into one of the worst situations an OSU coach can be put into. I'm happy he got a couple really nice wins under his belt. Miller could end up being a good one. Hope he acts better than Pryor. That first qb they played was ungodly bad. I got the feeling Pryor was to Tressell what James was to Mike Brown. coddling million dollar talents with negative million dollar brains. (My parents were huge Tressel fans as they both went to Baldwin-Wallace in the 50s where his dad was coaching...his Dad was not a conservative coach which is funny as conservative as he was. I rememeber going to some of their games in the 70s and they passed a ton which was unusual back then and saw a guy do a cartwheel going in motion once. I guess LEe Tressel occasionally did this as a distraction...very un Jim-Tressel like!!)

clyde 11-02-2011 09:49 PM

Too bad...boy, what a story you could be telling.

Oh Miller is diametrically opposed to Pryor....seems very, very modest. He will be an A#1 guy here.I'm already convinced. I'm with you on Fickel.Ohio State fans can be brutal for no reason other than they think we should always be way up there. You're very right;he was handed about as tough a situation as one could take.....he's getting them there now.Hope he's back.

I feel the same about Tressel as you.

Have to fetch an appley pie.

horseofcourse 11-05-2011 02:14 PM

Iota beats the vulverines clyde...the slip into the abyss for them once again as you called it!!

clyde 11-05-2011 02:23 PM

:D

Boy did Ohio State regress.

They are still not a really, really good team.

Playing at Purplexed next Saturday now looks very iffy...but when The Vulvarenes lose--it's a good day.More coming.

clyde 11-05-2011 04:01 PM

Maybe Purdon't won't be so hard next week.

And Southeastern is beating the CornFucl<ers 7-3 at the half!! AT the CF's place.

The Fucl<ers only have 3!...against Southeastern!

thud

clyde 11-06-2011 09:50 AM

Southeastern won....yay!!

The Big I is almost at complete parity.

Ohio State must get bettah in order to stand out from mediocrity.

I do know State Penn is possibly the King...but we'll see.

horseofcourse 11-06-2011 02:50 PM

I'd have to check the stats clyde, but I think Earl Campbell ran for over 100 against the Browns today too. they ran out of regular backs to go for over 100.

clyde 11-06-2011 03:02 PM

!!

I believe Bush's wife was the other back to go over 100 in this game.

clyde 11-08-2011 03:22 PM

Cleveland is playing at home this week ( sorry,Browns fans) to the Rams...the Browns less 3 is the line.

Give those 3 to St.Louis, of course, and in turn give the Browns 9 in consideration of their coach---Mr. Rogers.

So it's St.Louis minus 6.

Take St. Louis.

clyde 11-08-2011 11:02 PM

Cleveland Browns coach,Mr. Rogers, showing his motivational wizardry in addressing the Browns football team.

The Coach gained his fame from, oddly enough, helping Mike Tyson through a particularly troubled time:

clyde 11-09-2011 02:35 PM

I am withdrawing my buy signal on Nebraska.

It needs further scrutiny....never doubt the power of WrongTurno tears.

But is it enough?

This is the question;and so...I need to put my Deb-O-Deb thinking cap on.

clyde 11-09-2011 03:14 PM

I may have put my college picky-poo's in - ALAN's - room...ah furget.

But....it's also the last home game this year for StatePenn.

The CornFucl<ers aren't nearly good enough to overcome all these motivational factors. The StatePenn players will come out like savage meat eaters who have not tasted blood nor munched for 7 days.

Take StatePenn getting 3.

I would have to question that. Before the horrendous story was made public, the team feasted on easy teams both out of and in conference. Well, most of them were pretty close so feasting isn't really a proper term. I'd have to think football is the furthest thing from their minds. Feel bad for the seniors as senior day has become a bit overshadowed by "current events". They may be the college version of the Bengals....great record, but really how good?? then the stuff came rolling out. Puckers very overrated but did blow out Mich State...I think they simply bounced against Southeastern looking ahead to State Penn. I think karma will come full circle and Joe Pa has won his last game in Happy Valley. It is now Depressed Valley. Puckers, Buckeyes and Badgers on the road and 6th place SEC team in Bowl game. My Lions go 8-5. Sadly networks now slobbering for rights for Joe's last game in the weedeater-outback-blockbuster bowl. That is why trustees should just fire him right now to avoid that pathetic forthcoming spectacle.

clyde 11-09-2011 04:00 PM

Thank you.

SportyFans....take the CornFucl<ers and give the 3.

thankfully they just did so the spectacle will not occur.

clyde 11-10-2011 07:58 AM

Nebraska seems to play almost everyone at just the right time.

The Vulvarenes coach will be exposed as a trany the week before Nebraska plays them.

clyde 11-10-2011 01:40 PM

Mr.Coursey...stay away from that awful thread. It does no good for the stomach nor mind.

The leeches are engorged as a result of extracting their i-net blood from all their formless victims.

Let us be at peace as we pay more attention to our dreadful Cleveland Browns....no one cares about them.

Which is good.

I'm shocked everyone hates my guts because I didn't like it when people call my school a cess pool and when a few hundred 19 year olds acting like morons are believed to be destroyed for life on this board for disagreeing with mine or their's opinion. And I simply state they are probably not destroyed for life simply for disagreeing about something because they have been trained to do it their whole life....worship elite's with money. That's Paterno. I'm not sure people were understanding my statements. I agree with pretty much all posters, but to make the 18 and 19 year old kids in the streets the story is wrong. They aren't. That was my point. I'm never sure and can't quite remember how perfect I was at 19, but many others can. Oh well, I'll just back away for awhile. Power corrupts and absolute power corrupts absolutely. That's the story of Joe Paterno and the Penn State football program. Most students at Penn State don't play football and most don't flip over cars, that was the case in the 1980s and it is the case today. The facts are I know more about that place than any single poster on this board, period. End of story.

maybe the Indians will trade for Tim Wakefield this week to join up with Derek Lowe. Let's get all the washed up ex Red Sox!!

horseofcourse 11-10-2011 06:41 PM

Who do the Browns have playing this week?? I don't know who's on their team any more. The Rams are a bad team too, but I think they're better than the Browns. I'll say 9-5 Rams. The Browns won't get the grand slam in the bottom of the 9th they will need to send it to OT. Choo needs to come back soon. they miss him.

Mass hysteria happens.

People need things like that so they can puff up and make themselves look so saintly....and be the final judge of all things.

!!

Wakefield...yes!

Trout Nixon...what a player.

I think it is the Rams.

I don't know whose practice squads we raided this week, nor do I know of any other home invasions in their search for talent.....anyhoo---do you really think the game will be that high scoring?

My thought was more like 5-3,Rams.

clyde 11-10-2011 07:14 PM

Side note....was watching some film of Cribbs. This guy is a real team player and a really a good guy. When I see guys like Hillis thanking God after a touchdown and racing away from their teammates wanting to celebrate so they can get to the fans jump in spot'---not impressed with that stuff.

I saw Cribbs blocking and fell down with the opponent. It was a big play and as he got up to run to the Browns player making the play, he kind of stepped on the opponent. How many guys would stop and make sure he didn't hurt the guy and tell him he was sorry?

I really love Cribbs..wish we had more like him.

clyde 11-10-2011 07:24 PM

Hey...one more thing.

I notice you make fun of yourself and don't take yourself too,too seriously. That's a very good thing.

It was fun calling each other horrible names in the LeBron James fight some time ago.

God you made me so angry!

horseofcourse 11-11-2011 08:09 AM

I was a LeBron fan simply because he played for Cleveland. As long as that was the case I wanted the miracle!! Guy had skills. Now I'm a Peyton HIllis fan because he plays for Cleveland!! It seems to be a vicious, endless cycle! what were the odds a year ago at this time the coaching matchup in Columbus next week would be Luke Fickell and Tom Bradley??

clyde 11-11-2011 01:01 PM

So true.

Life can be stranger than Michigan.

clyde 11-11-2011 05:24 PM

TJ Ward looks to be unavailable....has great pass coverage skills.

So...make that 4 to 3,Rams.

clyde 11-11-2011 08:11 PM

Purdon't, at their place, holds some bad memories lately, but this wasn't one of them:

I can't take it any more. It's been over 24 hours since I looked at that thread. I never will again. I won't look at responses to my final posts on it. I know people hate me quite a bit, but your statement in that thread stating you thought most people would do the same thing that actually happened if in the same position really hit home. The overwhelming majority of people here would be shocked to know I spent several years as an officer in the armed forces. I learned some strange things there about lots of things. The greatest thing I learned is what a tremendous thing socialized health care is!! (that's another story for another time! I did like it though.) Nonetheless, my first commanding officer "boss" at one point told me I needed to lie. OF course lying is a terrible thing and shouldn't ever be done but to be outraged about a cover up is hypocritical by anyone...well, maybe you can be outraged but certainly not shocked. My initial thought is 100 percent of division 1 universities have played a player who has sexually assaulted a female. Would that be close to a fair assumption?? I'm not sure, I'm just guessing. In the end, I did decide I agreed with your point that it's not a for sure what we'd do in the exact situation that occurred at Penn State. That was hard for me at first as lots of wrongs were committed by lots of people. But I do know I have taken the moral low road lots of times when I knew I shouldn't but did anyway. OF course there are levels to everything, but I know I've done it. So to say I truly know what I'd do would be a lie. And I was actually told to do that once!!! (what happened in the end was just another moral low road moment for me!) All you Christians out there, where did Jesus draw the absolute line at forgiveness?? I'm not really Jesus but I certainly know I can forgive a 19 year old defending Joe Paterno. That I know for certain. For many it is another moral low road moment for me. I think I disagree.

clyde 11-13-2011 10:20 AM

A#1 doubleplusgood fine work.

The i-net allows human beings to be perfect in everything.

clyde 11-13-2011 03:46 PM

The Browns just found yet another new way to lose.

But at the same time...not really.

horseofcourse 11-17-2011 01:59 PM

I'm becoming a minimalist on here much to the delight of all involved!! Browns and Rams shocked me with an offensive explosion both getting to double digits. Browns came through with the L though. I think about the same this week...another terrible team coming to town. 10-9 Jax. Only 3 Dawson field goals this week. I'll say 16-13 Buckeyes against the other nameless team! (they're pretty much identical teams for the most part...home field edge.)
