This White Sox pitcher is trying real hard to to a Durbin in the very first inning.

clyde 09-22-2011 07:46 PM

r u shore that isn't Durbin in a Humber suit??

No Josh Tomlin after all. The Indians saw his rehab and apparently saw enough.

"Once we fell out of the race, we were not just going to call off his rehab," Acta said. "After he finished everything and felt well, it makes no sense for him to pitch another game."

Tomlin completed his rehab with a simulated game on Tuesday. He tossed 45 pitches and the Indians felt he was healthy enough, so they shut him down to risk any set back. They want him healthy going into the offseason, but wanted him to finish his recovery process. Of course after seeming like he'd get back out there, Tomlin needed some talking to and convincing, but he certainly will come around with the bigger picture in mind.

(the best news is this means more Talbots!! I had erased him from my mind! Yes, we get one more start from Talbots this year. How gratifying!)

aaaahhhhh!!!!

clyde 09-22-2011 07:55 PM

And was that Masterson in a Gomez suit?

Clutch city...back to 1.5 up. Gomez has won 5 straight...maybe it is Masterson in a Gomez suit this whole month and perhaps Talbots is in a Masterson suit in September! They're just kidders on that team.

clyde 09-22-2011 08:23 PM

!!!!!!!

Highly amusing but so confusing!!

:zz::zz:

horseofcourse 09-22-2011 08:25 PM

For the rest of my life now I will call 3 home runs in one inning as "doing a Durbin." Humber only completed a two-thirds Durbin tonight.

horseofcourse 09-22-2011 08:34 PM

This game brings back memories of the glory days of late April.

clyde 09-22-2011 08:34 PM

Oh that's a good one!

He's the pitchers Mendoza measuring stick.

Sizeless with "rbi" in his game stats just don't look right.

horseofcourse 09-22-2011 08:39 PM

I try not to jump the gun, but I think they may actually have something in this Kipnis. I probably once said that about Dopey Phelps too though.

clyde 09-22-2011 08:41 PM

Yes, but I think the one out of two theory is in effect here. They should all catch this "kipness" disease.Wish it were that easy.At least we know we do have one real player in AC.

One.

My God.

horseofcourse 09-22-2011 08:47 PM

God help me, but I'm still very high on Santana too. He's gonna hit a lot I think...he's going to first too. LaPorta is a poor man's ryan garko.

clyde 09-22-2011 08:54 PM

Oh boy..that's a name from Hell.

Yes, even the FO has to know that ML is suffering from permanent stiffness.

I'll go with you on Santana's offense, as long as he gets the average up to more like .280.He could be our 2nd real ML player..position wise.

I'm getting excited for next year!!

I'm so easy to please it's embarrassing.

clyde 09-29-2011 10:17 PM

The Tribe will drop the last 3 to the Tigress' and go 80-82,but will finish ahead of Chicago for sole claim on say-cone place.

clyde 09-29-2011 10:19 PM

Ohio State will defeat Colorado around 37-17...something like that.

The Browns will up end Miami 17-16.

That score I am reasonably sure.

slotdirt 09-30-2011 08:39 AM

It's like Back to the Future II.

horseofcourse 09-30-2011 12:12 PM

Hey, wait a second. Who altered the historical record? Some legendary stuff has been offed. What day is it??

clyde 09-30-2011 01:15 PM

death to the globalist pigs---they have begun their reign of terror

horseofcourse 09-30-2011 02:20 PM

All animals are created equal but some are more equal than others. There ain't no glue factories Boxer. It's all over.

horseofcourse 09-30-2011 05:12 PM

The bench coach as well as Belcher quit. Bring Charlie Nagy back. He did wonders in Arizona this year. My guess is he'll stay in Arizona!!

clyde 10-01-2011 01:02 PM

We had a bench coach??

Anyhoo----still alive to Detroit's 3 and out.

ok, I still don't like the Yankees at all. A bench coach is almost as important as the hitting coach which is almost as important as the bullpen coach which is almost as important as the travelling secretary.

horseofcourse 10-01-2011 11:10 PM

Oh God, the Browns play tomorrow. I forgot about that. That's never a good thing.

clyde 10-01-2011 11:22 PM

!!!!

C U in the end zone...my very good friend!

horseofcourse 10-02-2011 10:51 AM

They do need to offer Nagy a ton of money. He was the Columbus pitching coach in 2009 and 2010 and they have good success and quite a few good pitchers came up through the system. Look at the Diamondbacks pitching this year compared to last year. He has been phenomenal. I would go full bore to offer Nagy the job here. He was a AAA pitching coach in another organization and left to take the Columbus job, I think he may take the Indian job. His track record is superb. (we could offer him a statue too if he came back!)

horseofcourse 10-02-2011 01:43 PM

yeah, not fooled by last week!! This bad team this week they're playing is less bad than the first 3 is all.

clyde 10-12-2011 12:09 PM

Nice game last week, aye?Talking about both the Browns and Ohio State.

Bausserman pas incomplete
Bausserman pas incomplete
Bausserman pas incomplete
Bausserman pas incomplete
Bausserman pas incomplete
Bausserman pas incomplete
Bausserman pas incomplete
Bausserman pas incomplete

And McCoy completed 41 for 350...loser's stats---much like the other Cam.

Bausserman's stats are beyond losing. No one in the lower stands , anywhere, is safe when he's flinging.

How can you blow 21 points in 19 minutes??

How can you sit Hillis in the WC and insert a guy who can't catch a beach ball??

Baseball!!

horseofcourse 10-12-2011 02:04 PM

I guess the new coach is teaching Hillis a lesson. Lesson is we are the Browns, we change coaches a lot and we lose. A lot. Hillis and the Browns are fighting about contracts. The love lasted less than a year. It was fun and we can always remember. There's Jhonny and Victor both homered last night in the post season. I remember that!!! the bye week non losing bonanza is now over. The losing starts in earnest Sunday in Oakland again.

clyde 10-12-2011 02:10 PM

At least Mayweather is fighting again..sort of.I can't say the name of nor pay no never mind to that filthy team up north.

clyde 10-15-2011 05:34 PM

Ohio State defeats the Fighting Vagini.

Th Ohio coaching staff, playing not to win, did their best to bag this one.....but they just weren't quite good enough only because Captain Zook is juuuust a little dumber.

clyde 10-15-2011 05:40 PM

Oh, very proud to mention the Vulvarenes were again exposed as paper tigers.

They don't have 3 yeller streaks down the backs of their helmets for nothing......don't ya know.

clyde 10-17-2011 11:08 AM

Ohio State doesn't have anything to do this week. The Browns acted like they didn't have anything to do yesterday. The Cavaliers don't have anything to do for----long time;and the Indians don't have anything to do for several months.

I don't think Mikey Bier and Mikey Watchbreaker ever had anything to do.

If I fought a guy like Mayweather, who is a counter puncher---I wouldn't throw any punches.I think I said this several months ago, but I thought it was pretty good.

Someone should start a Chuck Wepner thread in schizoteric.

clyde 10-18-2011 08:20 AM

Cathedral Latin will play Benedictine this Friday.

It's the Cleveland high school Holy War.

wow, cathedral latin was re-instated!! awesome! there's really no reason to come on here anymore. browns are going at best 4-12 if they get very lucky. Cavs are locked out and stink when they aren't and Tribe season is 7 months away. and incredibly the Bengals just made one of the best trades in NFL history which will pretty much ensure last place for the Browns for the next 4 or 5 years.

horseofcourse 10-18-2011 11:24 AM

Looked it up on wikipedia and saw they joined with the girls school in 1988 after shutting down in 1979. '88 is when I left northeast Ohio for good pretty much so haven't been paying too much attention to things high school wise. I do remember latin having some great b-ball teams in the '70s.

Yes...it's actually Cathedral Latin/Notre Dame, but I hate Notre Dame.CL is the absolute neatest name for a high school I've ever seen.

Glenville is,too.

I won't know who to cheer for if they play each other.

horseofcourse 10-19-2011 08:48 AM

OXFORD, Miss. (AP)—Colorado Rockies pitcher Drew Pomeranz(notes) was arrested early Friday morning, accused of disturbing the peace in Oxford, Miss.

Oxford police arrested Pomeranz at 1:25 a.m.; he was released on a cash bond at 4:40 a.m. Pomeranz was listed in jail documents by his first name Thomas.

(we finally get to the bottom of the Obaldo trade at last!! just need to find out how much "peace" was disturbed)

clyde 10-19-2011 02:34 PM

I'll be darned.

He's a nighttime raider.

McDowell was, too.

Can you imagine how good he could have been if he wasn't always high?

clyde 10-22-2011 05:59 PM

Oh my God...

Benedictine........42
Cathedral Latin...16

and...

Glenville.......35
John Adams...0
