horseofcourse 09-07-2011 01:50 PM

who's this victor Martinez guy that keeps hitting 3 and 4 run home runs?? I know I've heard of him before. while all these NL and AL playoff teams have remnants of the 2007 Tribe, we've got remnants of the 1997 Tribe!! What's 10 years between friends!

horseofcourse 09-07-2011 01:55 PM

Man, 2 more home runs from Duncan...both off Verlander and we're still gonna find a way to lose another one. Bat's arm is starting to fall off. Sipp is the bullpen's Tomlin...doesn't put many on base, but the hits he gives up go a long, long, long, long way.

slotdirt 09-07-2011 02:06 PM

If this thing gets close to clinched, they need to shut down Verlander. Two out of three outings, he's looked mediocre at best.

slotdirt 09-08-2011 06:12 AM

You know, that second Shelly Duncan tater was a heck of a swing. A high heater from Verlander at 97 MPH isn't easy to hit.

You'll be able to do that. You guys got very hot at the perfect time...mid August to mid September. He did only give up 3 hits yesterday--yeah, 2 were bombs but I wouldn't be overly worried. I think you guys are set up great for post season. Benoit and Schlereth are pitching well in their set up roles, perfect closer and fister was the real boost you needed. Plus you hit. You're coming in exactly like the Rangers were last year...well under the radar.

horseofcourse 09-09-2011 08:49 AM

It was the official Manny Acta threw in the towel game. 1-1 game in the 7th he passed over Sipp, Pestano, Smith, R Perez for Frank Herrmann Munster. Season officially over!! We knew that, but now Acta has acquiesed.

clyde 09-09-2011 05:28 PM

A little betting angle:

Mr. Munster is only effective when pitching the 12th through the 16th inning...by then, the opposition's hitters have batted 24 times and are very tired.

horseofcourse 09-09-2011 10:45 PM

Back to .500!!! Two home runs for Chisenhall and Trevor Crowe is still batting Zero. gomez 3rd straight win. We played the AAA slap hitter Carrera instead of Grady. I think we're better doing that.

clyde 09-10-2011 08:07 AM

Oh my God!!

horseofcourse 09-10-2011 08:46 AM

slotdirt update...

If the Indians finish up the season 20-0 (with LaPorta back on the roster, this may not be a pipe dream any longer), the Tigers need to go 9-9 to force a 1 game playoff.

clyde 09-10-2011 08:52 AM

spit!!

rolling an' laughing!!

slotdirt 09-10-2011 10:47 AM

Hey, nobody expected Doug Fister to turn into the AL version of Cliff Lee down the stretch.

horseofcourse 09-10-2011 03:35 PM

27 pitch first inning for Exhausto. I'm already tired just reporting the information.

clyde 09-10-2011 09:48 PM

Oh boy.

I hate Abner Doubleday.

Well Ohio State certainly has shown an offense that just may rival the Indian's.The defense is of the break but don't bend variety.

I realize more players got caught with their filthy fingers in the cookie jar....but this is right after the Skin Illustration Caper. What the fucl< are they doing over there?

Geez..they must now have 34 players in the penalty box.I mean, bridges don't have this many suspensions.

Ah dunno, Toledo really isn't a cake walk.....but this game did not paint a bright fuzzy for the rest of the year. They were 16 yards away from winning.

And I thought they were the one team that just might light up my life.

Fucl< me.

clyde 09-11-2011 12:12 PM

I broke down and just listened to the Browns' first "offensive" series of the season.

Some things never change.

Started listening to the Browns' first "defensive" series.

...uh,no...

clyde 09-11-2011 04:22 PM

I tuned the game in and out...when they were so thoroughly happy with that 17-13 lead---you knew they would lose.

You knew it.

To what was supposed to be a horrible team---at the Browns' home field.

And so...they did.

...uh,no...

IT's really bad. They play very well mid game...17-3 in the 2nd and 3rd quarter!! Don't worry about the 24-0 in the 1st and 4th. Glass half full. Valbuena, Crowe and Marson went 7 for 12 with 5 rbi, that's the only Cleveland team I care about (Valbuena went deep)!! Obaldo continues to go ok...see, we're stupid I think! We;re in the Luck from STanford sweepstakes big time. McCoy is our 8th good backup quarterback we've gotten since 1999. Tim Couch is still the best qb we've had since we came back, and that's saying something awful, cause he stunk.

If we can't beat a Cincinnati team at home playing Andy Dalton and Bruce Gradkowski at qb, zero wins looks within the realm of possibilities this year. I say go for it.

clyde 09-11-2011 04:37 PM

Oh my God.

Everything is even worse than I thought.

Thank you.

horseofcourse 09-11-2011 06:25 PM

Drew Pomeranz made his major league debut today clyde, if you want to get really depressed look at that box score!! To be fair, Alex White has stunk badly in Colorado, but they only have to hit 50 percent on the trade.

clyde 09-11-2011 06:43 PM

White, based on his 2 or 3 first ML starts with the Tribe...as long as he gets over the finger boo-boo.... I think will do very well.

I can't look at DP's stat....can't do it.

I'll vomit and already have twice today, but thanks so much.

slotdirt 09-11-2011 06:47 PM

The Browns should collectively jump into Lake Erie for that awful performance. Cincinnati may end up being the worst team in football.

clyde 09-11-2011 07:06 PM

Well now you have stepped over the line.

Go fucl< yerself and those fake Tigers....may they go 4 and out.

Which they probably will.

Tribe had a nice run Clyde. They are set up quite well for next year if they can get grady back along with maybe another bat.

clyde 09-11-2011 09:28 PM

Listen Sister......the trade did it.

The Jimenot trade...it will curse the team forever.

And Sizeless will never hold together;excessive glue can't solve the problem. All I know is I now hate Detroit.

clyde 09-11-2011 09:48 PM

I didn't intend to be mean,Dahler.....so I'm sorry.

Thanks for the nice remark.

I love you,

Clyde

clyde 09-12-2011 06:31 PM

Mr. Horsey---what good news have you for me tonight?

clyde 09-13-2011 12:13 PM

That's what I was afraid of.

There weren't any games. I guess they can put Texas well out in front in the West. They have a history of miserable performances there. I'm sure the Rangers are anxious to play them as they're only a couple up I think.

clyde 09-13-2011 08:15 PM

Oh.

My bad.

horseofcourse 09-13-2011 09:58 PM

Yes, I was correct. Texas is greatly enjoying game 1 of the cleveland visit. Some guy named Putnam pitched for us in relief. Bat is completely finished. He's got nothing left this year. Will the Tigers be able to hold this 13 game lead?? Santana had a bunch of home runs but it's still a massacre. No good news tonight. I'm not sure why they insist on playing Grady in his present state. It's just stupid. Keep giving the AAA slap hitter at bats the rest of September.

horseofcourse 09-13-2011 10:01 PM

September in cleveland is always a fun time. The Tribe eliminated and playing out the string...here's our bullpen parade tonight...

Hag-done
Judge Judy
Some guy named Putnam
Herrmann Munster

And you get the beginning of the season of the newest Browns incarnation disaster. Good times had by all. thank God there's no NBA this year hopefully so perhaps we can avoid that mess.

clyde 09-13-2011 10:18 PM

Boy they really, really make it hard to find that silver lining, don't they? Ah dunno..from America's Team to The Team No One Wants.Injuries played a big part, but so many of the injured weren't doing all that much.

Yes, you can tell it's September here just by the relief pitchers names.

It's already wait until next year for the Browns and Ohio State....at least the Tribe made us wait until near season's end.You are right there with your NBA comment.

It's certainly something to be thankful.

I think the injuries may have been overplayed a bit as you astutely stated. The one's that really hurt were Kipnis...he was injecting something into the team, and the 2nd Choo injury...he was actually raking finally before that one. Hafner was in an endless slump when he got hurt. Grady was already hurt and stunk when he "officially" got hurt. Hannahan is Hannahan and it was already decided when he got hurt this month. Tomlin was already starting to go south when he got hurt, but that one didn't help much, and Carrasco was not a star either. It's time to put Masterson on the shelf and give him 10 days off between starts now. He's starting to look like Exhausto, and no one needs to go through that!! 3 home runs tonight....that's a couple months worth for him and I think he gave up 2 the start before that. He's cooked goose. He's been so good this year, it's a bit sad seeing him end the season this way.

slotdirt 09-14-2011 08:28 AM

Losing half of your Asian contingent probably didn't help either, and Brantley.

!!

Yupper dupper....I feel bad for Masterson,too...and he never once, that I hear ,complain about those 2-1, 1-0 losses and other no decisions he took.Would definitely look to trade Exhausto--if it were me.Sizeless...they have such little talent in the outfield they may as well keep the guy.Things might be looking up a little more if two certain pitchers were still here---but they're not.

Brantley was fading ,but maybe it was because of the injury.Happy they got NoJerseyThome. It's nice to have someone playing as though they were on the DL, but really are'unt.

clyde 09-14-2011 08:29 PM

Oh my God.

horseofcourse 09-15-2011 04:50 PM

Texas, 3 games up...8-1 versus Cleveland. they owe us some champagne.

clyde 09-15-2011 06:03 PM

I'll settle for their top 2 pitching prospects.

Evidently all it takes is a Jimenez. Something else tells me they're not interested.
