We need more girl groups (or groups with girls in them) on this list:

"Our Lips Are Sealed" (misheard as "Alex the Seal")
"Manic Monday"
"These Dreams"
"I Want Candy"
"Closer to Fine" (for those of us awash in teenage folk angst in 1989)

Both. Andy has too many strange chick friends if they like him.

Rachel Ray, now there is a real woman. Haha. A lot of woman. But she can cook and I can't. Bonus points for that.

For all of the hullabaloo about Prince singing at the Superbowl halftime show this year, since he found religion he's apparently tamed down his show a lot. Some songs he won't do anymore.

Though I always thought "Little Red Corvette" was actually an ode to monogamy.

Now THERE's a song that would take on a whole different meaning if a girl sang it to a guy-- "Little Red Corvette/Baby, you're much too fast..."

GPK 01-01-2007 09:19 PM

how can we be talking the 80's....and not one mention of VAN HALEN!!!!!

I'm very happy with all the women I know....but thanks for the heads up. I'll stick with the ones I have....and you are more than welcome to Rachel Ray.

It takes all kinds.

somerfrost 01-01-2007 09:19 PM

Either Welcome to the Jungle or Sweet Child of Mine!

Kasept 01-01-2007 09:20 PM

The girl's group mention makes me think of Josie Cotton, her great "Johnnie Are You Queer", and the GREAT soundtrack to "Valley Girl".. Also featuring the Plimsouls (Million Miles Away); The Psychedelic Furs (Love My Way) abnd more, and ending with Nicolas Cage driving off with Deborah Foreman to...

MODERN ENGLISH, I'LL MELT WITH YOU...

saucon17 01-01-2007 09:20 PM

"Burning Down The House" Talkin Heads

Hickory Hill Hoff 01-01-2007 09:20 PM

Metal groups -
Judas Priest...Iron Maiden...Whitesnake...Motley Crue and other countless "hair bands"

GPK 01-01-2007 09:20 PM

You're right. We must all bow down and let David Lee Roth kick us while he wears those assless pants.

Loved "1984."

there should be a seperate section for classic 80's movie songs...

Or it could just be Molly Ringwald movie music
