congrats to dennis.

I was an advocate of his work from the beginning, seems like
I started following him 8-10 years ago. and finally today the expected decision came down.
I still get a pissed off feeling, as being involved and knowing the industry for over 20 years now. that it took the
"back door & behind the wizard of oz curtain's" blessing of the sports leagues and that happened with
the raiders and knights pro teams setting up shop in vegas and leagues wanting a taste of the action in the process.

I will leave you with this not vastly known nugget, filthy double talk as it is.
A couple of years ago when the soon to be Vegas Raiders closed the paperwork on their new stadium the provisions
in the lease/owner paperwork was changed last minute when it came to adding some new provisions.

Those provisions were for adding handheld at seats and kiosks around every floor in the stadium
in game betting tools/hubs to wager on the game action before you and beyond. so there is that.

otherwise, a great day for actual freedom of humans and the right to actually choose and make decisions as adults.

the true daily double as horse racing benefits being a natural kiosk for customers to venture out to place their
sports wagers and naturally become new or born again racing fans, as long as the powers that be in horse racing
do not mess up one of the greatest most beautiful products ever viewed.

Drazin on ATR tomorrow and will have him address..

I'm surprised by this as NJ already aligned with Betfair who has the platform in place already...

State by state can happen more quickly with geo-tracking, but the nature of cross state lines transactions is murkier..

Not sure if you guys have seen or if this was covered on ATR with Dennis but it appears sports betting will likely not be up and ready for Memorial Day due to language in a bill moving through the NJ legislature.

Not a ton to bet over Memorial Day so it's merely symbolic.
And I'm confident that the NJ house and Senate will move quickly on this, the vote will be near unanimous so it's really just reconciling the bills.

actually memorial day, is a huge day in sports with afternoon ballgames
across the country, that families go to as we honor our troops present day
and yesteryear. Along with that includes quality holiday horse racing all day, and
a possible night cap of maybe a stanley cup or nba finals game. It will be a day of
freedom, family, entertainment and enjoyment, that will show a little slice of the best of our country.

You’re right. Probably nothing to worry about. But sounds like Memorial Day is out.

Sounds like a great way to drive betting handle up. Don't advertise that the sports betting is not available and make everyone play the horses for the day.

raininthrees 05-17-2018 08:53 AM

maybe some could apply for a job, and hopefully by the end of
the summer they are not begging for overtime, while talking under
their breath, about what they were thinking throwing that navarro
colt out of the pick 3, hopefully

actually inaccurate, as my many discussions with industry friends
from vegas to the east coast over years reveal that april-august is
when shops close up to avoid the smart baseball action that
surfaces, when the ill informed football/basketball fools are finished donating.

Baseball for books can be brutal because of sharp hardworking
people who exploit market weaknesses like this, let you guess who?

Apr 29 @ Philadelphia Phillies +100 8.5 Won 10 - 1
May 1 @ New York Mets +170 7.5 Won 3 - 2
May 2 @ New York Mets +140 7.5 Won 7 - 0

and to your other question sure thing

Saturday Mets(+115) Matz v Corbin
Sunday Mets(No Line) Syndergaard who will be overvalued v Buchholz

NEW JERSEY LOOKING SET FOR FRIDAY

Headed down to DE Park with my brother and a friend tomorrow night to bet on this week’s PGA event!

What a time to be alive!

jnunan4759 06-04-2018 05:12 PM

Go Declan !!! I love to bet golf. My bookie won't take it because of volume, but bet it in UK a lot.

I'm interested in seeing takeout in this. If states go after 30% takeout, the bookies live. It's a question mark.

NJ is positioned excellently by having legal on line casino gambling and exchange wagering. I would assume you can do the exchange on other sports ? I also would assume you can do online sports wagers. It's all in place now.

In game betting on golf is the softest lines out there, provided there's a competitive leaderboard. Don't know when they'll have it in DE and NJ but hopefully soon!

in game wagering, probably should rent the movie “what about bob” first

states will keep low limits on flats for a while to grasp their market place
and then gradually expand menu, Delaware and New Jersey had light years
ahead workout reports and starting first, they are running to works...

I use William Hill in NV for most in game wagering. They will be running the book at MTH, so I don't expect the offerings to be any different.

didnt say they wouldnt be, but not instantly

vegas is vegas, and other states are other states and are going to
have other obstacles to work out before menu expansion

They were (are) far more afraid of the leagues, who created PASPA, than Sheldon.

Now my question is.

1. Will the new AC Sportsbooks offer betting on horse racing since all but Borgota got rid of their racebooks
2. Will Sports betting be allowed at NJ OTB. Aside note I am pretty sure I am the only person here who had his wedding reception at an OTB... well a resturant that eventually became an OTB.

The legislation passed only applied to casino operators and racetracks. OTBs have different licenses and seemed to be excluded.

My take on the sports betting expansion is this — there’s a lot of initial excitement. It is a great thing to rid (as much as possible) the US of criminals running sports wagering operations. It is great for me as a sports fan and bettor. It will be around for the long term.

But a lot of these states are going to learn — there’s a reason there aren’t stand alone sports books here in LV. It ain’t a license to print money...

declansharbor 06-13-2018 05:35 PM

I’m guessing the poster ASUdevils is having a rough go, between the VGK getting HANDLED & other states getting the green-light for gambling (something he/she gleefully cheered against).

I’m loving every second of it (Ovie finally winning one and celebrating like a BOSS and the fact that I don’t have to travel far at ALL to sit my fat a$$ in a sportsbook and throw my hard earned money to the wind!

As they said in their post a few years ago (on the first page of this thread), ...

YESSSSSSS!!!!!!!

now when the skeptical finally realize and see the numbers have and will continue to naturally spike with the customers coming down for sports as well.

It is a must, and fast, that tracks look at the takeout structure and make a significant scale back, as you will get your profits, but if you don't do it naturally by giving players a chance to run thru their bankroll, you will lose these new players after about 365 days.

And you will have only yourself to blame. Lower takeout ASAP
