He said nothing of the kind. He never insinuated in any way that he enjoys bad economic news. He was actually saying the opposite. He was basically saying that Obama supporters must enjoy bad economic news because they are celebrating the election of a guy that will make it much more likely that we will continue to see bad economic news.

What he was saying was actually similar to what I was saying in another post with regards to California. In that post I was saying I can't figure out why people in California keep voting for the same clowns in the state assembly when it has been these same clowns that have practically bankrupted the state. They vote for these clowns and then celebrate their re-election. But these people celebrating on election night will end up suffering for the next 4 years just as bad as those of us who voted for the opponent.

I wouldn't expect you to understand the difference between taking "enjoyment in bad economic news," versus finding amusement in the msm's fawning over your guy and their unwillingness to assign him blame for anything that happens on his watch. That you don't is not unexpected.

Harry Reid has already agreed to filibuster reform this time. He said he was wrong 2 years ago not to do it. Boeher got rid of his craziest extremists, and now has some who are more willing to compromise. The President knows the GOP won't deal and won't give a shiat. He'll make the offer, and if they refuse, he'll do without them.

Every single president elected in our lifetimes comes out the night they win with their wife, kids and relatives. Kennedy did, Nixon did, Bush did, Carter did, Reagan did, Clinton did, Bush II did ... :zz:

The international community is deliberately ignored in an election win speech, because it's pure politics on this night. There is no place for discussing international dealings in the winning speech. Not the place.

That said, Obama's speech was outstanding, and universally praised by everyone. You are free to have your own opinion, obviously, but wow.

Winning this election doesn't mean that Democrats are on the right path. More than anything it just means that they narrowly got more votes chiefly because they were able to goad the GOP into fighting over bullshit like abortion. Because they ran a better campaign doesnt mean they are correct or that things are going to get better. The politicians arent the problem, the problem is the people who they have to appeal to in order to get votes. The victory lap taken this morning is typical myopic thinking. Obama and company arent a good choice, they are one of the worst groups of politicans in our country's history. Problem is that there are only 2 choices and the other one is too stupid to realize you cant win by telling the truth until it was too late to make up the difference.

I'm not an "extreme partisan" simply because I don't embrace the John Birch Society wing of the former GOP.

Like many have described, Obama fits very nicely with moderate Republicans. Why I voted for him. Why Colin Powell endorsed him. Why most major newspapers in the country endorsed him.

This country isn't divided - from my point of view, it's been brought more together. The wingnut extremists were thrown out of office. When you have Fox News calling Karl Rove extreme, there's plenty of hope. If they can lay off the crazy talk, and people like Donald Trump stop calling for revolution because they lost an election, the rest of us can continue to work. There were historic accomplishments Obama's first term, and it will continue.

The United States is unique as even our Democrats are considered rather conservative in the other first world countries. Like me being called "extreme". It's absurd.

The election was a "landslide" according to all the Romney people that thought he'd be on top with over 330 electoral votes. It was Obama who got the "landslide", however. Exactly as the multiple rational poll watchers - and not the crazy right wing reality-deniers - predicted. Every swing state but one.

That's plenty significant in a Presidential election. Especially as on the evening news, Obama's win margin is now over 3 million votes and still rising.

And the minimal survival cell phone access for emergencies wasn't created by Obama, either. In fact, poor people could get minimal telephone service since I was about 10 years old. We all pay for that in our telephone taxes.

Yes, Obama has the "loafer" vote of those in abject poverty locked up, especially in the dismal make-believe imaginary world of the ObamaHaters where "47% of Americans will never take responsibility for their lives".
