There was a train called the Johannesburg Express. Maybe something along the lines of that.

Johanesburg Xpress
Joburg Express

Star Fort

Voortrekker

Turffontein

Panic Room

Annesti

Janvan

Going to start polling shortly.. Have these 9 right now. Any other that have to be in the balloting? Consider that I've looked many up on the Names Registry, and several are already taken or are too close to existing names to be considered. These 9 seem to be free and clear...

Cape of Storms is enjoying life as a polo pony now.

Merlinsky 01-13-2011 08:52 PM

I didn't see the other 3 on the list before it got pruned. Out of curiosity, what were they? So strange that Panic Room isn't taken. I liked that, but a couple of the others look nice too. I wasn't clear on what Annesti had to do with South Africa. Google said it was Arabic for 'welcome' and Anesti is Greek. It's pretty, though.

How can their be a copyright on a commonly defined term?

So, say I made a movie and called it 'Water'. Would anyone who tried to name a horse 'Water' be subjected to copyright violations?

I came across Cape Colony and Great Trek when I was looking up Voortrekker to remind myself what the history was.

Both are available and relate to South Africa--the Voortrekkers, specifically. I don't think these came up in the past.

How about honoring all of the Jewish members of DT and simply change the 'u' in Johannesburg to an 'e', thus making it Johannesberg?
