Hillis is white.

Everyone loves a white tailback.

Once you go whitey...you'll forget about Sighty.

horseofcourse 09-13-2010 03:37 PM

In the end the Browns had a chance to extend the longest winning streak in the NFL with a win over the horrendous Bucs. They decided to change their philosophy this year. In their 4 game winning streak last year their run to pass ratio:

37-19
49-18
46-17
49-11

yesterday against Tampa:

21-38

Obviously they can't keep with the ridiculous ratio they established out of necessity last year, but they became a much better team by becoming a running team. Jake Delhomme stinks bad. Perhaps not the level of Brady-Derek Quinn-Anderson bad but still bad. They need to run a lot. In their 4 game winning streak they ran 74 percent of the time. Yesterday they ran 35 percent. Tampa had the worst run defense in the NFL last year. Yeah, they make sense.

Jeff Logan was my favorite white tailback. (one of the legions of North Canton Logans)..think he played in between Archie Griffin and Ron Springs in the OSU running back timeline.

More fine work.

Remember the Cincy game just a few years back..down there?

That would have clinched a play off spot.Very windy....they threw like the dickens.DA had 4 picks, I think...and they lost, like 42-38.No?

college Otis was before my time. I remember him in the NFL though...him and Metcalf's Dad were very good backfield.

At least the starting pitcher has only given up 7 over the first 3.

Go ged 'em!

horseofcourse 09-15-2010 08:08 PM

They're making up for last night's game big time. One whole baserunner through 8 innings! Incredible drama in the 9th. Brantley's 14 game hitting streak on the line. Dimaggio not safe yet!

He's worth the price of submission.

Well no...he was a fan signed out of the stands.

horseofcourse 09-15-2010 08:53 PM

The combination of Brantley's assault on Joe D's 56 (only 41 to go...and we'll have to wait a whole off season for it to continue.), and Marson's assault on the Mendoza line. (slipped from .197 to .196 tonight), we have two incredible weeks of vintage Tribe baseball ahead the rest of 2010.

horseofcourse 09-15-2010 08:56 PM

Holy crap and with all this Tribe excitement I almost forgot it's less than 4 days til Delhomme laces them up.

clyde 09-15-2010 08:56 PM

!!

Honest..I didn't thnk Lou was htiting that well.Thought more like .170.

Oh...that's Valbuena.

He's really good,too.

OT-TOE!!...OT-TOE!!

clyde 09-15-2010 09:02 PM

HC,look at it this way............

Oh never mind.

clyde 09-15-2010 09:59 PM

Meanwhile, Ohio State takes on the BetsyCats of Ohio University.

Looking for a better game than Cryami gave them.

clyde 09-16-2010 06:41 PM

Exhausto really is a fine pitcher, but boy does he make me tired.

25 pitches in the first ininng...34 through 2.

But he has struck out 5 of 6.

Down to 43 through 3. marson sitting at .199, it's becoming agonizing. I don't think he's made it to the Mendoza line once this year. One more hit tonight and he's there.

horseofcourse 09-16-2010 07:10 PM

I was wrong. Lou peaked at .224 on May 2nd. He dropped below permanently on June 5th.

clyde 09-16-2010 07:44 PM

This line ups batting averages look like a dollar store advertsiement.

horseofcourse 09-16-2010 09:02 PM

Exhausto is the ultimate team player. He gave up two solo shots just to extend the game to give Brantley the chance to continue to pursue Joe D. More ultimate drama as he leads off the bottom of the 10th.

horseofcourse 09-16-2010 09:10 PM

You know it baby!! 9th inning last night, 10th inning tonight! 40 more to go!

clyde 09-16-2010 09:35 PM

we won!!...we won!!!

again!!

!!OOOOOOOOOO!!

horseofcourse 09-17-2010 06:17 AM

Great win. 60 and counting. Head to head with KC this weekend in the war for 4th place (Tribe a half game back, one back in the loss column). Exhausto extended his scoreless streak to 22 innings, Brantley got to 16 straight (Tribe trivia, were it not for a K in a pinch hitting appearance he'd be at 24 right now! and Brantley was hitting .118 at the All Star Break.). And sweet Lou up to .197. Regarding Mr Marson, there is one thing the INdians are best in the league at....speedy catchers. Tribe catchers 11 for 12 stealing bases...Lou 8 for 9...guitar legend 3 for 3 pre shredded-knee.)

The football clevenaders get KC too. Doesn't get much better than that....two cities that don't win facing off. I think the football game could be a tie.

horseofcourse 09-17-2010 03:12 PM

Not the 90s anymore. Tribe team ERA in September--2.39 and team WHIP 0.97. Team record 7-7. That seems almost impossible to accomplish.

clyde 09-18-2010 09:51 PM

Didn't want you leave you hanging ,HC.Decided not to clown around here anymore because.....well I don't know why,but I'm not.

Strange statistic you point out,but the defense and hitting---would be nice to have it.

Beat the Chiefs or be The Philski...but in any case at least we're not Michigan's defense.

But then no one is.

Ohio State is pretty good, but not sure that good.

Gotta love those special teams and that running game.

Why--I don't know.

horseofcourse 09-19-2010 10:29 AM

Brantley’s 18-game streak is the longest current run in the majors and the longest by a Cleveland rookie since Larry Doby hit in 21 straight in 1948.

Marson got it to .202 Friday night, but an 0-fer last night and he's below Mendoza line. Won't play today.

It's very exciting. And the Jake Delhomme era lasted one game. We move on to the Seneca Wallace era!

horseofcourse 09-19-2010 10:42 AM

Meet the best closer in baseball since the all-star break that no one knows....Chris Perez.

24 games....23 scoreless games

26.1 innings, 15 hits, 9 walks, 30 Ks, 0.69 ERA, 14 saves.

...plus, he sports a mullet.
