As long as she does, better then, then never, or to have her run in the Woodward for instance and then have an excuse to duck out the rest of the year.

Have you ever had a point? An interesting stat? Anything?

Rachel Alexandra would have been smoked in the BC Classic. She's the wrong type of horse for that race .. her running style is horrible for it .. and her trainers stats are absolutely beyond brutal in synthetic races.

Life Is Sweet ... who was a very mediocre Eastern turf horse till she was transformed by Shirreffs ... she would have beat the living piss out of RA over a synthetic track in the Distaff.

I know just pointing out as historic fillies go other than last years classic the spots she has showed up in, well its not really all that new.

3 questions, do have an intelligent one coming anytime soon? Don't tell me this is why you came back.

Hey CSC ... the turf is labeled yielding at Saratoga right now. Somewhere in London, there's got to be a relation of yours on a board arguing "the ground is not good-to-soft .. it's yielding!"

I'm sure even Hawk Wing would pummel this field! :)

That was sprinting and before Asmussen took over. A Pro-Ride route is terrible for her style.

The Bill Mott Eastern turfer Mushka was 2nd in the BC Distaff ... if Rachel Alexandra would have beat Mushka, they'd have had to scrape me off the floor from shock.

I never said that I thought she would win. I just feel that you can't say she was ducking anybody based on the schedule she did run. It would be a lot easier sell for the Z camp if the BC was held on a dirt track.

I know and I agree. I don't blame the RA camp for not keeping her in training and shipping out there after a hard year in a race where she was almost certain to run dramatically below her dirt form.

I'm not 40....yet...and i can't stand this fake crap. This coming from a person who use to post Hollywood Pick4's on Friday Nights before they installed the rubber. Now I just look to see what they have on turf, unless i find a certain first time maiden.

Did Rachel ship twice to try synthetics? Breeders Cup was on synthetics last year, where was she?

If ZENYATTA definitely has run for the last time in front of her California fans then I wouldn't be surprised if it was her last run period.

won't be going to new york. but, is that really a surprise?

Merlinsky 08-08-2010 07:57 PM

Well, I suppose tempting the racing gods is next on her agenda. So there's no other viable option other than the Zenyatta Stakes? I absolutely appreciate that Shirreffs actually wants to handle his own barn, but how can there be only one race in the entire state at the right time in the calendar? How is it other times in the year we get 3 races for the same division on the same coast?

perhaps people aren't happy with the zenyatta camp because they said they were going to travel with her this year, and let her fans see her.

oh, there's no doubt in your mind? So you are Jesse Jackson? Maybe Steve Assmussan? No? An assistant to ....? No. Oh, you work at the track where she was stabled and saw her and talked to the connections? No. Hummmm.

There is no doubt in my mind that unless you qualify for any of the above categories, I have no doubt in MY mind that YOU don't know what you are talking about.

Well perhaps you can get Jess Jackson, Steve Asmussen, or Scott Blasi to come and weigh in here. If not, don't get bent out of shape when someone offers their opinion on a message board.

good lord. i didn't realize i could engender such venom by saying had the bc been on dirt that rachel would have pointed in that direction. they certainly didn't hesitate to run in other top dirt races, which is why i said she'd have been there had the surface been a dirt one. so sorry i ruffled your feathers by posting my thoughts. i guess i need to find a message board more conducive to actually posting messages? or maybe you could just use the ignore feature, so as not to be bothered by my incoherent ramblings...
