But what really amuses me is people like Riot who start fights over relatively meaningless subjects like Glenn beck and Sarah Palin (neither of which currently hold a position of authority and are basically paid entertainers) and believe themselves to be somehow neutral!

I always expect BWS to offer his opinions on subjects based upon his version of the world which is much different than many others here. I dont always agree with his take but respect his opinion. Nascar has a completely different view of the world based upon his experiences yet no one seems to respect most of what he has to say. While I admit that his pettiness and namecalling can surely not help the cause, he does bring a different view.

Now with that out there a random poster that didnt agree with brian would be 1000 times more likely to be called homophobic than a label being attached to someone who disagreed with Nascar.

You fail the NASCAR fan test! You cannot be racist!

Nascar has "views" which he cannot substantiate. All of his claims are factually incorrect and once cornered on his lack of research/knowledge turns on the angry, "you don't respect me or the military" personality. All I ask is if you're going to debate me on something, get your facts straight. Now it's Doreen (whom I happen to know and am friends with) that's got her facts wrong.

Palin, Beck, Rush, Olbermann, and the like are dead to me.

There is very little fear on the right of liberal talking heads mainly because so few people watch/listen.

And you should fear Princess Doreen!

I hate to say it but you wont find a more racist group of people than blueblooded Lexington. And a whole bunch of them are Democrats.

And really why we continue to debate what these people say makes us look dumb. In my entire life I dont think I have ever listened or watched any of them for more than 5 minutes.

Yeah..but who is scared of who?

But seriously..and this is a good topic...why do you think the right wingers have the ratings? This country is obviously split pretty much down the middle, but the right needs to hear their opinions reinforced. I would never listen to a left wing radio guy...why should I...know I'm right anyway:D

Haven't the Republicans figured out that they need reinforecement of their propeganda? How many righties here defend their precious Rush, Beck etc...Who do the Libs defend other than the POTSU?..

Contrary to popular (and Riots) belief the GOP doesnt run Fox News.

The truth is like most TV and radio the hosts only focus on what they perceive as watchable/listenable. The truth about the finanicial calamity that awaits us as this healthcare law sets in is simply too boring and difficult to keep the average viewer. Remember this is a country where American Idol and reality TV are huge.

I talked about the Dems screwing the black voter for 50-60yrs and got no response! So black ministers or people in entertainment/politics are "marginalized"(where'd I get that?) for disagreeing with the liberal rhetoric being foisted on American citizens today? That's why the Tea Party is growing!

So are Rush and Beck...what's your point? It's the same viewer except one is listening like a robot and the other is watching as entertainment. You have to admit that when 50% of the country is Liberal and 50% is Republican and the only shows that get ratings are righty shows...the Republicans need their nipple to suck on. Come on..it's obvious.

The ironic thing about the inference that Fox news watchers blindly vote for who the talking heads say to is that on the opposite side of the street who has more voting lambs than the Democrats? Blacks, gays, jews, etc?

I haven't twisted anything. There was no need to twist it, the comment was outrageous, and it's not like it needed context or anything. And the fact that she's clung so hard to it proves that it wasn't "taking one sentence and twisting it," it was exactly what she meant. It's a ridiculous assertion, and a really pathetic line that is almost always used by racists and their friends to justify their racism. She seems happy to own it.

That's not particularly bothersome to me, I'm not ashamed of ranting when some nut claims that calling someone a racist is the same as calling someone the N-word. That deserves a rant, and probably one much longer and more vitriolic than I've been able to muster.

Not sure what that has to do with "yadda yadda," though, which continues to be how your posts read to me and plenty of others.

I wish Hossy was still around -- I miss the days when he'd humiliate you in public on a daily basis down here.

he's the antichrist
he's the end of us all.
he's going to ruin the country.
we can't handle four more years of this.

quick, was that said about bush or obama? it's a trick question, that's been said about both, as well as a bunch of other bs. you sound just like the right-or do they sound just like you?-when you start talking about the party you disagree with.

That doesn't seem the reality to me. Obama ran on health reform, he won by the biggest Democratic electoral majority in 40-50 years.

The public clearly DOES want health reform, and according to the polls, the public wanted more than we got, such as a public option.

All we got so far, really, are finally some decent consumer protections. We didn't even get as much as Nixon and Reagan proposed for health reform. We really didn't get much "health reform" at all.

Hopefully that continues in the future, however.

obama ran on a lot of platforms, one of which was health reform. i can't remember ever agreeing with a pol on all his ideas, and i doubt you'd find that everyone who voted for obama did so because of health reform. the fact he won doesn't give him carte blanche to do whatever the hell he wants, while using 'i won' as an excuse, does it? those we send to d.c. are there because we can't all go vote on everything-it doesn't mean they can go up there and do whatever they wish. but then, if they do, they get booted out-hopefully. but i know many times you've said he ran on that, therefore we got what we asked for. i find that to be untrue. many may have voted for him due to other issues, and hoped like hell that health care would get left alone-or at least that he wouldn't continue the spending ways.

taxes soon to go up, there was yet another article yesterday with dire warnings about our economy and the massive, and growing debt. either things get cut, or taxes go up-or a combo of the two.

I'm baaacccckkkk all you lucky people. Thank you, Antitrust - you get it and catch on to the continual spin over one sentence I wrote in a lengthy post on the definition of certain words. It's unfortune that BWS can't get the needle unstruck from the record he continually plays. An insult is an insult. Calling someone a racist who doesn't deserve to be called such is akin to calling a black person the "N" word. There, I said it again so no one thinks I'm back peddling. No tongue in cheek - just straight out laying it on the line. Chew it, swallow, or spit it the heck out. Makes no never mind to me. But, maybe, just maybe some of you might be hesitant about who you call a racist in the future. Some of you may continue to go on to stupid even when you've been given information to remove you from the ignorant list.

And when it comes to passing Nascar on the backstretch? Hell, I could run the quarter in 21 and change against some of you lightweight left wingers who run on nothing but hate, sarcasm and misinformation - fuel for the feeble minded.

Some of you may have already figured out that I just love to yank chains and push buttons.;) and it just warms the cockles of my heart to see how so many of you liberals who preach tolerance but don't practice it get so riled up over comments made by an anonymous person on a horse racomg message board. You really do need to grow up and toughen up. Start growing the same tough skin you expect your adversaries to have.

There are several people on this board who know me personally. I guarantee you that not one of them could ever say by any stretch of the imagination that I am a racist or have any racist viewpoints.
