That better Chuck? An easy road win by GT is enough to bump them ahead of VT.

I think Texas is the best team in the country right now.

Hard to belive Miami is good enought to be ranked twice in the top 10 unless one of them is the Dolphins?

I'd bet the house on Bama over Oregon on a neutral field.

Coach Pants 11-01-2009 09:05 AM

I indirectly listened to all of the experts and got my arse handed to me yesterday. Tennessee is for real and Alabama is not in crisis mode.

And Mississippi is chock full of Nutts and Kentucky hates Will Fidler.

That's just silly coach pants. I am far better at internet message board inanity and complete balderdash. You know that's true. I'm trying to figure out what you have beat me at. (Oh wiat, you have an entire multiple page thread consisting of simply your football picks...so maybe you have beat me at everything...at least of significant imnportance that is.) Our only interaction is indeed internet message board ludicrousness on threads such as this making top 10s? Maybe on less important interent message board inanity I come close.

I think my entire top 10 won yesterday. Probably don't need to change it until teams start losing which they will. (Alabama will eventually make it to number 2 coach, don't worry....unfortunately Boise isn't losing until after New Years Day!) (I pretty much correctly had USC nowhere remotely close to my top 10 didn't I KG!...they might be better than UC next year.)

Coach Pants 11-01-2009 10:51 AM

It's ridiculous to have Iowa at #3. That is my only complaint about your top 10.

Their quarterback threw 4 picks in the 3rd quarter. Do that against any team that doesn't travel to away games in a fleet of short buses and they lose by 14 or more.

Your top 10 is a joke. Texas would absolutely pummel Iowa, even if it was in corn country.

Perhaps. But I am a big 10 sycophant and enjoy their irrelevance. If they lose to OSU, they'll of course drop. Mid season rankings are also irrelevant on all counts. Despite the irrelevance of everything involved, myself included, winning road games against PSU, Wisconsin, and Ohio State in the same season would be very significant if they pull it off. As bad as the big 10 perhaps is, that is still impressive in that bad conference. They are a big 10 team that also routinely beats the SEC second tier routinely in New Year's Day bowl games. That tier that the top SEC tier gets oh so much credit for beating in the regular season. Stanzi is the Otto Graham of modern football. W-L.

Of course it is. It's mid season. Time will drop Iowa if they aren't that good. Texas would pummel Iowa because they blew out an Ok State team without their superstar that lost to Houston on the same field? The same Houston that gave up 600 plus yards to southern Miss yesterday? Iowa reminds me of the bad OSU team that won the national championship several years ago that stunk every week but won nonetheless and beat Miami...bad interference call notwithstanding.

I rank the 7 unbeaten teams in the top 7. The order is irrelevant. I honestly don't care that Iowa was lucky to beat Northern Iowa. I like their road wins even if it is a bad conference. I am one who thinks the big 12 is just as bad if not worse than the big 10. Did you see the big 12 perform in bowl games last year?? Horrendous. In all honesty, Florida and Alabama should probably be 1-2 in any poll that exists, but I just can't do it. I can't get over the fact that Boise held that Oregon team we saw yesterday without a first down in an entire half.

Where the hell is USC? If a loss to lowly Washington didn't keep them out of the hunt for the national title, surely this quality loss puts them right in contention.

Throw a blanket over 1,2,3 and 4,5,6,7- all are really good with the top 3 separating themselves from the pack. I don't like the 8,9,10's much at all and it would be a travesty if Boise and TCU both win out and get hosed from a BCS game by one of these jokers.

It's in Southern California, very close to Downtown LA.

Cannon Shell 11-01-2009 06:07 PM

TCU is really, really good. Better than Boise, Cincy, Oregon, Iowa. No doubt they can play with the top 3.

Haha. I'd say that's a good place for 'em.

But come on KG, even you have to admit they get the benefit of the doubt from the media. They will always be the highest ranked team with one loss or two or however it works out.

I do admit that. But you've got to admit that they've kinda earned that benefit of the doubt over the past eight seasons.

Yeah, they can be incredible at times. Then they throw in that game that leaves everyone scratching their heads. Guess that's what ya get with college kids.

It's like they are so used to having it so easy that they don't deal with adversity well. They are used to hitting teams and having them fold but the second a team doesn't fold, you see the SC teams start getting tight. I won't say this is the end of the SC reign in the Pac-10 but the tide is really changing. I think teams like Cal (they are building new, first class facilities now and are getting top players to come for visits) and Oregon (already has among the best facilities in the country) are about to really close the gap.
