Regrettably, no. ALthough, I will be tailgating at the stadium (see signature) up until about 7, then making our way to a friend's house (right off of Cottman Avenue exit of 95) who happens to be a fan of the GMen. His Shockey jersey looks like 2 blue bedsheets sown together. We call him 'Forman Mills' when he wears it, and multiple nicknames when he doesnt.

Looking forward to it is an understatement. If the GMen win, they run away with the division. If they don't, its up for grabs. Must win for the Birds, and I hope they rise to the occasion and shut down NYG's 3 pronged running attack. For some reason, division opponents run all over us. The rest of the league gets stuffed like stockings.

Should be a great game to watch. All eyes on this one.

I guess common sense isn't a course at Vandibilt. What the F was Cutler thinking, running the ball up the middle with 10 seconds left and no time outs? :zz:

You know I think we have had this discussion before, but the way I look at it is the only guy the Giants have to be afraid of is Westbrook. I still think he is the most under rated guy in the leauge. McNabb used to be more dangerous when he would run if he had to. He can't win it by himself anymore. Also, they still really don't have that stud reciever that warrents double coverage.
That being said, it will probably come down to turnovers. Who ever coughs it up less will probably win.

Yeah, that was pretty bad. Sometimes I wonder how some of these guys graduated college....Let alone memorize an NFL playbook. (ALOT worse guys than Cutler though.)

Bingo. Could you imagine if they did? (2004) The field would open up like Pam Anderson's legs for 36 and they could rotate either Curtis or DJack in the slot. One of these years the brass will realize this and stop thinking they can win it all with 2nd and 3rd string recievers. Of course, when they finally do, Kolb will be at the helm and 36 will be retired due to being overused.

There isnt a facet of Westbrook's game that isnt top notch. He can block better than some, if not most tight ends. Underrated for sure.

I bet my buddy Nic Nic (aka Forman Mills come sunday) that Flexico, as he calls him, will have less than 8 catches. I guess I should bring some extra coin with me. :(

The year that they had a stud reciever, they went to the Super Bowl.

Westbrook is to the birds what Tiki was to the Giants all those seasons. The whole offense was based around him and everyone in the leauge knew it. And they still couldn't stop him.

Plax has always played big against the birds, plus he is due for a big game. He has been invisible the last couple of weeks. This is why they gave Samuel all that cash, let's see if he earns it this week. He will be man to man against him alot due to all the blitzes that the birds will throw at Eli. I would take over 8.

Yea, I knew I was in for it as soon as I shook his hand. But we were bickering back and forth so vehemently that I couldnt back down. (I hate, repeat HATE, when I try to bring up a logical point, all he does is spout out the GMen's record. I can hear it in my sleep. 7&1 neegah, 7&1 kiss da d!ck) I counter with "Name me 15 Giants, full names, without the aid of a computer", which usually muzzles him.

This will be Samuel's biggest test yet. 24 and 26 havent been able to do it for years now, let's see what Duece Duece got.

Chills will be running down my spine nearing kickoff. Hell, the moment I get out of the car down at the Linc and see the multitude of green. GL to ya the rest of the way, save Sunday and week 14 of course. ;) ...We need the wildcard at least.

Enjoy your tailgate, don't waste too much beer (thowing it) on Giants fans. And enjoy the game it should be entertaining, no matter who wins.

You too! (the enjoyment part)

And I buck the trend of Eagles fans, as I'm quite reserved in the social setting. I just watch the fracas from a not so distant distance. Now, if they win a ring, I'm not sure that I could keep my cool.

This CLE/DEN game has lost my attention. Beddy bye time.

Just be happy that you have the Phillies!

I am turning in too, this game has push written all over it.

And to Mortimer, I am sorry about hi-jacking your thread!

MaTH716 11-06-2008 10:36 PM

Well after that, maybe I will stay up for the rest. Nice to see the consistancy of both teams defense, or lack there of.

The guy that he replaced went what, 10-6 last year? Plus he made the pro-bowl.
A year on the bench might be beneficial for him anyway.

No. Mike Brown is now the best coach in Cleveland (I know how happy that must make you!!). Although to give the Browns credit, it is tough to play defense when a team's 4th string running back goes down and you know exactly what they are going to do each and every play. That is the recipe for allowing 600 yards. The Browns are the complete package each and every week. When they play defense, we can count on zero offense, when the offense doesn't blow, we can count on 600 yards or Joe Flacco picking us apart. It's pure poetry how diverse they truly are.

The Bid 11-07-2008 09:44 AM

Mike Brown and Romeo should be equipment managers not head coaches. We have the two worst coaches in each respective sport. Once again Romeo humiliated himself and the city of Cleveland

Although I jest about the skills of Mike Brown...he is far, far from the worst coach in the NBA. Not even close to it.

I agree, when you have 14 pts leads and blow both of them, EVEN with a bad defense, your job isn't safe and shouldn't be.

I also think that he had a leash on Quinn, they didn't stretch that defense at all.

If I was a football coach and I had a QB with ANY arm at all, within the first 10 plays I would be tossing one 40 yards down the field to get that defense uncomfortable, doesn't matter if it is completed or not, just do it to put it in the back of their head.

Coach Pants 11-07-2008 10:05 AM

I think they'll give Romeo one more year. :zz:

The Bid 11-07-2008 10:21 AM

If he gets another year Im selling my seat license

The Cavs tickets we have Im about to give up as well. If they are 500 through the first 40 games Im giving the rest of the season away

As far as those guys not being the worst in their respective field, you tell me whos worse? Whos worse than Mike Brown.

Dude, don't worry, Chicago went through the same thing with Doug Collins when we had Jordan and looked how that turned out :)

Coach Pants 11-07-2008 10:23 AM

I know they're terrible. BUT the sports media is putting heat on college and pro teams to hire and keep black head coaches.

The Bid 11-07-2008 10:25 AM

You are right coach, I dont think Cleveland can fire both black coaches in the same year. Jesse Jackson would be crying and Sharpton would be raising hell. Cleveland is one of the dumb cities that actually bought into the media hype, you see what thats gotten them. A hamsandwich.

Im not against either guy accepting a position in the organization, equipment manager, personal assistants, whatever. They just arent head coaches, neither guy

Ive always thought Doug Collins was a good basketball mind

A VERY good mind, but horrible coach

I dont dispute that, he would have been good upper managment.

If they are not doing the job, they should be fired. It doesn't matter what color they are. I am not familiar with Mike Brown, but after watching the Browns a couple of times this year, Romeo should definitley be getting a pink slip in the near future. But to keep a guy because you are worried about Rev Al. coming to town is ludicrious.

Not to mention that Ohio went to Obama anyway. But since when is sports politically correct? Theses teams interview some black candidates because they have to. That's a shame in itself, telling teams that they have to interview someone based on there color, not just their credentials.

I never said anything about Romeo...I don't think he's a good coach.

Cheeks, Mitchell, Del Negro, O'Brien, Skiles, Woodson, Van Gundy, Jordan, Karl, Wittman, Cerlesimo, McMillan, Dunleavy, Porter, Theus, Adelman, Iavaroni.

Perhaps more are worse. Perhaps less are worse. Comparing coaches is tough and many have coached about 7 games so far. To unequivically state Mike Brown is the worst NBA coach doesn't add up.

Ok I guess. Morty and Bid are on opposite sides on this issue from what I can tell. The Cavs success since Brown took over is high and since LeBron came is high. But Morty thinks LeBron is a huge detriment. Bid thinks Brown is the worst coach in NBA history. I'd love to see Bid discuss the x's and o's on why Marc Iavaroni and Vinny del Negro are without question far superior coaches than Mike Brown. That should be entertaining.
