I'll give you credit for tenacity----even doorknobs know when they're beat.

have to work bringing the ball up
the floor a lot of good things will happen.

I look for Rivers to reinsert Rondo to reek
havoc and forget about his offensive mistakes...

for a little while.

Does the box score mention the lob passes to
Lebron saving turnovers? Is there a category for
that?

You are too kind.

To yourself.

I am trying to stay above the 33% level posting ratio

The well known Pillgarden/Mortonsus stat that should
be in the boxscore.

Mortimer 05-10-2008 10:29 PM

"The D was the key."
=====

Oh ya....the Cavs held the Celts to about the average of the first 2 games.....but scored almost 35 above their average for the first 2.

I can't debate with headless horsemen...see ya latah.

Thats why you watch the game and dont rely
on stats only. That is the best defensive game
Cleveland has had in the series. I dont care about
the junk points. There is a diff. between playing
good D and the other team just shooting poorly.

The Cavs did a much better job on Cassell, on almost
every other player. Garnett will always get his on a team
that does not rely solely on his offense.

Their offense was much better.
They had an operational PG as I said.
Pray for Cassell again. And Joe Smith
playing way over his head.

(You know you've got them when they go to your post total.)

;)

The guy is unbelievable....

That is the best defensive game

Beyond unbelievable.

I don't care about
the junk points.

I don't either....73 is pretty junky--I like 108 better...much better.

Oh...tonight the Celts 40% was not the same as their other 2 40%ers.....what's the word for beyond unbelieveable???

Somehow I was more impressed with our offense for this 3rd game.

The Cavs did a much better job on Cassell, on almost
every other player. Garnett will always get his on a team

Lost in minutia.

^^^ Minutia and schizophrenia---all in one post.Only him.

Mortimer 05-11-2008 11:05 AM

I wish I could be wrong----just once.

:(

Mortimer 05-11-2008 12:19 PM

Again...not to be a poopie....but can you read what this writer was trying to say after yesterdays game?

This was, in the truest sense, a team victory. Five double-figure scorers. Everybody in volved in the big trade playing well. "LeBron didn't shoot well in Boston, but he made some basketball plays then," Boston coach Doc Rivers said. "He did both tonight."

Not really. James has yet to have a Zorro moment, when he slashes the defense to tatters. But no one ever wrote a book about the one musketeer, anyway

What about this writers thoughts after the 2nd game?

Brown didn't say it,but when Boston double-teams James as he brings the ball past half-court, James can make a quick pass to a teammate, then cut hard to the basket to receive a return pass. The Cavs also can have someone else (West) bring up the ball and have James run some curl plays around picks near the basket to catch passes in position to score rather than the dribble . . . dribble . . . stand and dribble that seemed to stall the offense.

:)

Mortimer 05-11-2008 12:31 PM

Could TheGardenThatDoesn'tGrow and MainCourse be the same person?

Did PG get his Mom a Stevie Hawking book for a MD present today?

Mortimer 05-11-2008 01:53 PM

I am a VERY smart man.

Yes I am !

Mortimer 05-11-2008 03:38 PM

I say to all ye boneheads...if the Cavs keep playing with this new found ,miracle offense ( and also beat Boston in the 5th game..which I think they will..if they do keep it)...they will win this series.

This ---even if Mr. RimClanger keeps making that sweet music.

Mortimer 05-11-2008 03:41 PM

And now ..please say.....Soap.

TheSpyder 05-11-2008 04:32 PM

soup

Mortimer 05-11-2008 06:56 PM

Yet another post I should not have posted.

Mortimer 05-11-2008 09:37 PM

I now issue a shall-onge to the Gardener.

If the Cavaliers keep playing a NonJamesLetMeFucl<AroundWithTheBall type offense ( as they did last night)...they will win. They will not win the series if they go back to the 1st and 2nd games "offense."

So......if I am wrong....I will leave and not return...ever. If I am right...The Gardener shall leave and not return...ever.

Now this is pretty simple stuff---it requires no revelation of anyones address nor place of work....no third parties need be involved ....and no money amount needs haggling.

So....Mr. BigShot........do ya feel lucky?

Mortimer 05-11-2008 09:38 PM

Well??

Do ya?

Punk?

I will need the exact Pillgardn/Mortunsus
ratio as a %, as of this post.

Mortimer 05-11-2008 10:09 PM

I should have known I would not get a simple yes or no.

So....yes or no?

So....yes or no?

How can I give you a yes or no when we
are rooting for the same team ya buffo toad?
And what is so simple about determing what
type of offense they are playing. I could go
on with this milky bet.

And finally, what in God's name is to keep you off this board?
Oh its a gentlemens bet: I shall leave and come back as
Puffin Lauderclauken.

And finally after finally, why did you not answer
my first attempt for you to give me 100 dollars
since you said the Cavs could not win when I said
they could
? Now you switch like the tides when things
start looking good...

And in conclusion,
I want a pillgardn/mortunsus ratio as of THIS posting.

Mortimer 05-11-2008 10:53 PM

I will soon need a new head .

How many times do I have to tell you? You said Cleveland could still win ,but gave absolutely no basis for it...already having said the Celtics had better everything. So how you reached that conclusion only PoisonSumac knows. What this has to do with who anyone is rooting for...I don't even think PoisonSumac knows.

I was very precise in how Cleveland can win....they have to go to what is called on offensive scheme and not Boneheadball....which you can clear clearly discern if you saw 1 and 2 ...and then the 3rd game.If they play game 3 they win..if they go back to 1 and 2 they lose.

Take it or leave it.

Mortimer 05-11-2008 10:57 PM

By the way---if you can't spot the difference in the offense the Cavs inserted for the last game.....you are not nearly the Dr.Ramsey you purport to be.

Mortonsus, Mortonsus.
We are practicing the art of deception.
I never said the bolded.

So if Lebron scores less than 13 points
every game you say the Cavs win the series?

Take it or leave it?
Damn it to hell.
You shoved me out to a precipice 1 inch
high. The pressure is too great.

We could disagree on the 2nd bolded every other time
down the floor.

And finally, finally, finally
your noble, but nonartitstic attempt
to replicate past bets for
obvious, but admirable reasons
is gallant. Even if it deals
with monopoly money.

What is the pillgardn/mortunsus ratio
as of THIS thread then?

Good night and have a pleasant tomorrow.

Mortimer 05-12-2008 08:17 AM

I said the second statement you put in bold!

( Is it me? )

You had said the Celtics had a better defense....a better offense.....they have Cleveland by a ratio of AT LEAST 4:1 in the creative arts.

And it's funny how everyone from fan to writer to tv commentator can see the difference in the offense........but you, the man who cut out the bottom of the peach basket, cannot.

Now I know how Hossy felt.

Debate with MainCourse...I would pay to see that one.

No I wouldn't .

Mortimer 05-12-2008 09:18 AM

And the man's a teacher.......don't ya know.

Mortimer 05-12-2008 09:50 AM

Right now he's in class.....cursing the steel ball that he can't get into the steel ring.

horseofcourse 05-12-2008 10:15 AM

I don't have time to read through all this that I missed. THe Cavs played a good game Saturday. Today will be different I think. Will likely be a close game. All I know is when the team shoots 50 percent they usually don't just win...they usually blow people out of the gym. The problem is they often have problem reaching that mark and often have problems even reaching the 45 percent mark...or even the 40 percent mark.

The team bailed LeBron out Saturday which is possible on rare occasions...but despite another ridiculous shooting game by the "something One" he played a pretty efficient and effective overall floor game...the big difference being he decided not to turn the ball over 8 or 9 times. Even when he shoots poorly he can still be a big asset as he was Saturday...he's a really good player most times. He wasn't in game's one and two. NOthing more need be said.

I'm not going to read the rest. That's my statement on the series.

horseofcourse 05-12-2008 10:21 AM

It would have served zero purpose for me to even look on this thread Thursday night or Friday!! I choose not to look!!

Mortimer 05-12-2008 10:23 AM

Hey....that was good,HOC. I'll buy that.

My BIG problem with James is his insistence on being a ball hog so he can achieve his international business goals.

When the team runs a facsimile to an NBA offense the supporting cast is plenty good enough to win. When they run the BOENHEAD offense against the better teams in the playoffs...it ain't gonna woik.

But the guy will never learn....he had one of his kiddies next to him at the post game press conference trying to destroy the microphone in front of her.

What a schwantz.

I'm sure you didn't.

Mortimer 05-12-2008 10:30 AM

Meanwhile....HoseGarden is still cursing the steel ball.

Oh poo.

I did find some errors.

Yes....James wins all the games...when his offense sucks---his defense wins.

Yes...I forgot you two are stuck on how terrible this supporting cast is.If James truly turns to playing a team game and with they way Brown seems to have finally discovered a rotation the Cavaliers can win the title.

Just remember he's not going to get there without this horrible supporting cast.

But I can't see James doing that through to the desired end.

Why I choose not to look. All I said he is a really good player in my post who is an "asset" even in games he doesnt' shoot well..."sometimes". That wasn't the case in game's 1 and 2 which I said. I never said his supporting cast was horible. It is not co-incidental the rest of the team shot under 40 percent in games 1 and 2 as well. You act like those guys play superlatively each and every game. They don't...nor does James which I have admitted every time. You seem delusional in thinking the other players never mess up which is more silly than anything I ever say. You seem to think when the other players don't play well that it is "only" the fault of LeBron James and has nothing to do with them actually messing up.

Your game is that so many people have declared James the only reason for the team's success that it angers you, which is fine. But you have taken it to so far the other extreme it is at times nothing more than nothing. PUre and unadulterated nothingness.

May I say---fucl< you ...sir?

What you have said to me is exactly 180 degrees out of phase....when ,in fact, you and HoseGarden are the ones ,all along, bowing to His Highness and trashing the rest of the team.

You are both hostile witnesses and ,therefor, must be dealt with expeditiously as well smartly----as well as like the 2 baboons that you are.

I quote nuff.

Mortimer 05-12-2008 12:17 PM

And so...I say to both of Your Malfeasances -------get with reality. He is not the greatest human to walk the Earth. He finished a distant 4th in the mvp voting.

He didn't even have a happy face on after the game. His daughter almost ate the microphone.

He cares about winning ONLY if he it looks like HE did it!

You are both being shown your empty headed ways so far.

Stick around.......I'll teach you what's what.

Mortimer 05-12-2008 12:34 PM

I should like to take a moment and answer some of HoseGardens outrageous hasnothingtodowiththeissue ...questions.

You proposed a silly $100 bet. I did not. I have said many times here that I do not bet....with anyone nor on anything.

I never liked basketball....I still don't. I think it just above puckey in being the most boring of the major sportys.I never played it....my only far removed interest is because of Cleveland and Ohio State...somewhat the local colleges as well.

But since I am a VERY smart man.....it is easy to spot the obvious....and make an intellectual proposal on how to fix the obvious. You and MainCourse see things even Auerbach didn't see!!

I think you're both NUTS.

But that's what happens when the dead try to speak to the living.

Mortimer 05-12-2008 12:45 PM

I still see HoseGarden frothing at the mouth over his failed experiments today.

Two girls in the front row are whispering:

"PSSST.....what's going on with Mr. Wizzard? I wonder if Morty-poo made him look stupid again last night?"

"Ya...he did. I snuck a peek on line around 11 and he was just brutal to Dr. Eisntein."

( in unison)....."TEE-HEE!!!"

Mortimer 05-12-2008 01:02 PM

You think I don't know these things....Mr.Wizzard?

Some of your students have found their way here....they pm me.

Oh yes.

They tell me how much they love my fine work and much fun it is to laugh at you here....which they can't do in school because you would give them F's.

One said her Dad thinks you're a cumquat.

But you won't get their names out of me.

They think you're hilarious in class.

Mortimer 05-12-2008 01:10 PM

MainCourse...HoseGarden.......I will soar above you 2 sissies.

If the Cavaliers go back to Boneheadball....and he beats that defense...has a great game and Cleveland wins the game....I will take it upon myself to leave and not return.

And,HoseGarden, I can't get another name if I do....you nincompoop.

This---even though neither of you has the courage to offer the same in support of your insane views.

Mortimer 05-12-2008 01:19 PM

============================
I caught you being superficial again. The Bonehead style causes the other members to do what James wants---and that's mainly get out of my way. So they are out of position and not ready to do much in this Bonehead style......but when we do employ an NBA recognized offense...Saturday night happens.

And you did essentially call his supporting cast horrible...I clearly recall how you said he does it all on his own.....but I have broken you down into yer basic pieces/parts so you have now come half circle.

Hang in there and I'll get you all the way .
