No, not suggesting that. Just that I would like to see Rags to Riches, Nobiz, Great Hunter and Tiago all take a shot at this. As long as their is no triple crown on the line, I'm not sure how excited I am to see the big 3 again in a small field, but it is partially based from a betting standpoint.

Just because Great Hunter and Tiago didn't perform well in the Derby, doesn't mean they're nags or have no shot in the Belmont. I think both will be serious factors if they go, as would Rags to Riches. If all HS, SS and Curlin all go, I think some of these horses point elsewhere.

I just think it'd be a good idea to reinstate the bonus they had awhile back. It wasn't a $5mil grand prize for the TC, it was something like $1mil for the best overall performance in all 3 races and a certain number of positions (I dunno, top 3, 4, 5 or something?) got points so you couldn't finish dead last in all 3 and get it just because nobody else ran in all the races. They should reinstitute that. It's like saying 'hey maybe you didn't win the TC but you ran in the TC races and did well, here's a million and thanks for not skipping out on us to run in another race down the road instead of the Belmont.' There ought to be a solid competition just to finish in the money consistently and to show up.

they should reinstate it. any incentives to get people to race--i'm all for it. shame yum! didn't come up with a good bonus, rather than that stupid idea about beating the winning margin for a mill.

9-Raise the purse of the Derby to $3 million. The Preakness purse would be $1 million if the Derby winner doesn't show up, $1.5 million if the Derby winner is there, $2 million if the Derby 1-2 are there, $2.5 million if the Derby 1-2-3 are there. The Belmont purse would be $1 million if neither TC race winner is there, $2 million if one is there, $2.5 million if both are there.

10-Bring back the TC bonus. Score it 10-5-3-1 for first through fourth so that way the winner of two races is guaranteed no worse than a split of the pot. Make a horse have to run in all three races to be eligible. Make the bonus $2 million. Have a $5 million bonus for a TC sweep.

11-Have all graded 3yo stakes after the TC include a purse upgrade of $100k if u get a horse that ran third in a TC race, $200k if u get a horse that ran second in a TC race, $500k if u get a TC race winner. Have that upgrade doubled if u get two such horses, tripled if u get three such horses.
