That is right ladies and gentlemen, that was the 3 Bonita Star who wins with now tied for the meet leading rider Edwin Maldonado (with less mounts than Bejarano no less!) who went from 5-1 with 2 MTP to 4-1 at post time and down to 3-1 after the race goes off! Maldonado gets the job done despite a premature move due to the fact he is riding the only horse in the race who wants to go 1 1/16 on synthetic. Who dare says that California does not have the best riding colony in the country? :rolleyes:
