To get back to serious, it's been noticed that the press and Twitter, Facebook etc. are deliberately trying not to show the shooters' picture, or mention his name, unless they have to. Concentrating on letting the victims be the ones famous and most remembered out of this.

of course! gay jokes can be seriously funny sometimes.

When I saw this orange haired screwball in court today all whacked out on meds ... I laughed pretty hard.

Over 100,000 people were killed in the Iraq War -- tragedy is everywhere, everytime, everyday -- I realize we are supposed to feel a whole lot worse for these people because it happened in the United States at a Bat Man showing and because it's big news in our media.

The word "hero" gets tossed around too much. The three young men who lost theirs lives in order to shield their girlfriends from the bullets are without a doubt heroes.

I told my girlfriend that I would have used her to shield me.

I'm against capital punishment -- because I'm a liberal homo, I know -- but someone like that, you might as well have the head doctors spend a lot of time interviewing him, after that, euthanize him like you would a horse with broken leg, and study his brain to see what went wrong.

yeah, i'm also against the death penalty...but my visceral reaction to stuff like that is take him out and shoot him.
there was a guy a few years back, a criminal, who donated his body to science so they could study him. they froze him, and set up a wild machine to cut very, very thin layers of his body, from head to toe, so they could really study every little inch of him. it was weird watching that thing shave his body down like that.

wonder if they ever found anything useful.

I'm sure they will find that this guy is a little off in the head.

You know, I really haven't had much time to think about this, with it being summer and Saratoga and Del Mar going on and all...

But, isn't the obvious solution now to declare war on PhD's in neuroscience?

i don't know if he's off. i think it's natural to wonder, and to assume that someone must be nuts to do something like that. maybe he's just rotten, not loony. i don't know. at any rate, he won't do it again.

He was probably chugging Red Bulls and popping ADHD pills to study 20 hours a day. The sleep deprivation caught up with him.

I don't know...I still think he's faking this "insanity"..I mean..you have to be batsh*t crazy to do something like this, but I'm not buying it yet

In a court of law -- you almost have to be ape-sh!t crazy, with the mind of a mongoloid and a complete inability to function in order to be viewed as insane.

As far as I'm concerned -- two of my four brothers are insane. They just don't have violent fantasies.

They also function well enough that they can pass themselves off as smart, normal, and popular when they have to.

The oldest one has a wife, two kids, has kept a steady good-paying job his entire adult life and was the cities best pitcher in high school. He's also 100% NUTS and even though he's not violent at all, he's almost got himself killed on several occasions by doing batsh!t crazy things and he is capable of saying some of the craziest sh!t you could ever imagine hearing.

The youngest, as profiled in esoteric, is a narcissist and a decorated criminal on top of being insane.

Which is why I thought the suggestion that we should all "call someone" about our loony relatives, friends, or co-workers was worthy of a "crass" joke.

Don't we all have a crazy uncle, a weird brother-in-law, or a nutty cat lady aunt that "bears watching?"

And who are we supposed to call about them without being regarded as some kind of nut ourselves?
