Oh that is awesome!

Someday I'd love to go see that race in person.

Mufhasa, who just won Horse of the Year for the second time (New Zealand), won his 10th Group 1 on Saturday (and I do mean against an outstanding field). :tro:

What I thought was pretty remarkable about Porfido's win is that he had made 17 career starts, or something like that, on the Hollywood Park turf without ever getting his picture taken! 18th time's the charm, I guess! :D

I didn't bet the race, but when I saw him closing like that in the stretch, I started screaming my bloody head off! It was great fun!

Love those old guys! God Bless 'em! :{>:

I know what you mean. I feel like handing out ear plugs to the people around me when it's a horse like this old guy. :)

I was listening to HRRN yesterday and caught the 4th from SA, where 9 YO Hard Bill came from off the pace to win by a neck with Joe Talamo up. Trained by Mike Puype, he was coming off of a 17 month layoff.

10-year-old Little Wagon (by Langfurh) returned to the winner's circle in a $20K claiming race at Sam Houston in spectacular fashion. The bay gelding's record now stands at 16-13-10 of 58 starts.

I don't know how I missed this.

I was checking the Emerald Downs site to see when they open and saw something about Wasserman who I love so much right on the front... with a link to this (somehow missed it).

Figured it belonged here. :)

Nice article! Thanks for linking it, Miss G, and thanks to Mr. Hovdey for the updates. These geldings, racing year after year, are able to establish a fan base that enjoys following them, and they know their job and most really relish it. It must be great to have them in the barn.
