I don't know how you can say that Sanchez won't win a Super Bowl. He was good enough to manage/win 4 playoff games (including almost digging out of a 24 point hole in Pittsburgh) the previous 2 years.
I compare him to Eli in the sense, that they both showed those flashes of brilliance at times early in their careers. Enough that it makes you say to yourself, wow this kid could eventually be a star in this league.
I have said it before and will say it again, I think the main problem with Sanchez is the team/coaches around him.
-The offensive line is not good (that should be enough of a reason there).
-What happened with the recievers (most notably Holmes)? Is he just disgusted, which still doesn't make his behavior acceptable. Or is it a case of a guy who got his payday (which is something that happened with Plax when he was with the Giants) and doesn't care as much anymore. Then there was the Mason issue. It just seemed that there were a lot of disgruntled people there.
-Rex Ryan, I think he has done no favors for Sanchez. His first year on the team, he had no veteran presence for Sanchez to look up to (Eli had Kurt Warner). There were times when he probably could have used the guidence, not to mention there were a few times when Rex should have yanked him. He also has left him in a few spots this season(Ravens, Eagles) when the games were over, but he was left in the game and continued to take a beating (not to mention turn the ball over which doesn't help his confidence).
The team has an idenity crisis. All we have heard since Rex took over has been "ground and pound", but this season he has thrown more than ever.
Then there is Rex's talk, teams in the NFL don't need extra motivation, which he provides on a consistant basis. Is it coincidence that the Giants defense, played their best game of the season against the Jets? Maybe, maybe not. Granted they won all those playoff games, but realistically Rex put a bigger target on a team that hasn't even been good enough to win their division in the last 2 years.
By no means am I saying that Sanchez had a good season, but like I have stated for a few weeks now, it shouldn't all fall on his shoulders. I still think that he can do well in this league, but unfortunately for him I feel like the Jets might regress a bit before getting good and making another run. Which will probably lead to more and harsher criticism of him.
